Solid drawer. Quality is very good.
Like everyone else here, I shop for a mix of the best value and a product that isn't a piece of garbage. Took a chance on this rack and it worked out great. This 4U rack drawer is a solid 5 stars in my book. Time will tell how it holds up, but on the drawer I received on 20 Dec 2019, here's what I saw. Drawer sits evenly in the housing and slides in/out smoothly. The handle is not a "slam latch" but the slides have rubber bumpers in them that keep the drawer shut in the closed position. The lock was installed on the top of the drawer, right where you would expect it to be. Lock works fine. The drawer has 3 holes in the back, roughly 1.25" in diameter. The holes have rubber grommets in them that you can punch holes in to run wires if you wanted to. The grommets are a nice, value-added touch. The drawer fits fine in my 6U effects rack and the mounting holes in the ears line up fine with the holes in my rack. The drawer appears to be painted and not powder coated as it has a slight texture to it. That's OK though. For the intended use of this product, living in a rack, it really doesn't matter. What matters most is the construction of the drawer/case and this is a solid product.

A very solid drawer
Nice rack mount drawers. Well built. OK, I have to confess that I am using them as part of the CNC router stand in my woodshop. They are cheaper than making wood drawers with drawer slides and all the other parts. I have two 7" and one 3.5" to store bits, tools and other accessories. They are also great in audio equipment racks.

Take the drawer out first for super easy installation.
I have a PC desk with a fair bit of rack space on, and underneath it. On one side underneath, I have been using a 2U Navepoint drawer for years, and it has been nothing but excellent. Recently, I was doing some renovations in the studio room of my house, and decided to add more storage under the desk. I didn't hesitate to go with Navepoint drawers based on my experience with them, and the quality they provided. I chose 2 of the 4U units to fill out that side of the desk. They look great, and fit perfectly (as I expected them to). While installation isn't a Herculean feat, it it much easier to to install if you first remove the drawer from the frame by using the black plastic levers on the rails to release the drawer. Installing the frame first allows you to easily hold the frame against your rack rails with one hand by pushing against the back of the frame from the front, freeing your other hand to screw it in place with ease. While they're a fair bit more expensive these days, I would not hesitate to purchase more if the need was there. I highly recommend these drawers.

Screw holes vary on older models - updated.
I've now bought 6 of these NavePoint drawers in 2u/3u/4u sizes. As you've seen there are varying review reports of non standard rack holes for screws. In the past I've chalked this up to possibly differences from possibly some 'DJ' and studio rack rails being non standard versus server rack rails. But I did have some issues I was able to get by with. In my latest purchases I decided to add a few more drawers, cringing at the cost, but I like these drawers mostly and that they lock, and the drawer mechanics seem pretty good. (however I caution you that all drawers will work on the same key, this can be a plus, but also a minus in that anyone with a NavePoint drawer key can open your drawers). However... Big problem confirmed this time with my new expensive drawer purchase. I can now confirm from the inconsistent reviews on screw holes, that it is indeed the drawers, and in fact they can come with the screw holes incorrectly placed depending on your luck of the draw. Here are photos of two "identical" NavePoint 4u drawers, bought from amazon at different times, but both with the same product listing/sku/asin. NavePoint emailed me to request I leave a review this morning. Here it is. Here are pictures that show definitively differing screw hole positions in these drawers for the same model even. UPDATED NavePoint reached out and let me know the drawer I had with the screw holes placed closer together is an older model they don't make any more. They shipped out a new replacement drawer. Now my drawers all match. All are able to fit standard server rack holes. NavePoint stands behind their products and supports their customers. I've bought a lot of NavePoint server rack hardware and parts over the years, and will definitely continue to look at their items when I am in the market. Thanks

Great for studio rack storage
I used to have a bunch of rack equipment for my home music studio. I bought these to fill out the empty space. Great for storing miscellaneous things around my workstation. The build is very sturdy and the drawer action is very good. Can lock with the included keys as well.

Fits Perfectly - Excellent build quality
First time reviewer, had to correct a lot of misinformation in the reviews I read for this product. I spent a lot of time debating on this drawer because so many comments suggested it wasn't 4 RU tall (said it was 4.25-4.5 RU depending upon which nonsense review I read and many of them saying the same thing) and the mounting holes don't line up with standard rack flange. I finally pulled the trigger because I had previously purchased the 2 RU Navepoint rack drawer and it was fantastic. Attached picture - this drawer is 'exactly 4 RU' and the mounting holes are perfectly aligned to a 19" EIA flange. I'm a mechanical engineer that designs servers for a living - couldn't ask for more here. Not sure if Navepoint revved their product or if the previous reviewers were on acid, but if the dimensions of the drawer are correct for your application, build quality and fit are both on point so don't think twice.

All in all it's great if you need a drawer
Not sure where the negative comments are coming from on this. Mine arrived two days ago and is exactly what I expected. Fit my rack perfectly. Takes up the four spaces as it says. Very well built, smooth drawer slides. It's exactly what it says it is. Only thing I can't comment on is the included screws. I had something in the spot that I replaced with this drawer so used the same screws that were holding that so I don't know if the included screws would have fit my rack. All in all it's great if you need a drawer.

Great Rack Drawer for Extra Storage
I installed this rack drawer in my server rack and have had no complaints. It provides plenty of space for storage and is lightweight enough to remove when needed. I have taken it out multiple times while reorganizing my servers, and it has been easy to work with each time. Highly recommended if you need additional storage in your rack.
