Lock is brilliant hub can be better
Lock is the best in market for tenants, no modifications at all to existing lock and fully adaptable and adjustable for most UAE locks. Touch pad is great and doing exactly what’s expected but only downside is the hub that’s takes time to get online compared to many other brands, it’s improved recently with an update but still not ideal, but works, however I’m slightly concerned when I’m outside home to remotely control my lock and other SwitchBot devices. I don’t feel it’s 100% reliable

Missing main item (door lock)
The main item was missing. Only keypad in the envelope. Returned for refund.

It is very easy to setup. I doubt it can be easier then this. It is bulky, but since it is meant to retrofit almost any lock, that is not an issue. Just be aware the inside unit is bulky and may not meet your beauty standards. That being said, it works amazing, it is reasonable silent for such a big mechanism, super easy to install and setup through the app is a breeze. The app has almost everything you need (I think it lacks some features, but none super important. Just some nice to have things like temporary suspension of a user - but it has temporary access and one time access features). The outside keypad is a complete separated unit, it is also Bluetooth with great range (I can check it on my phone app about 8 metres away inside my unit). It talks directly to the lock. The fingerprint is so convenient. The mini hub is totally optional. It works great if you need remote control of the device (like checking logs, assign new temporary passwords). If doing stuff while in Bluetooth range, the mini hub is not necessary. I highly recommend this product for retrofit or if one doesn't want/can't change anything to the existing door/lock.

La cerradura quedó completamente inservible después de un año y 1 mes exacto de uso, muy sospechosamente al final de su garantía; durante 3 meses de enviarles pruebas y muchos correos, la gente de switchbot al las pruebas de su mal funcionamiento (que no tenía nada que ver con el uso que le di, si no con defectos propios, estuvieron de acuerdo) solo pudieron responder: “aay pues sí, necesitas un reemplazo porque no sirve, pero pues ya no tienes garantía :(, pero noo te preocupes :D, puedes comprar el nuevo en nuestra pagina!” Un descaro y una burla al consumidor, una pésima empresa con pésimos productos.

UPDATE: the product itself hasn't improved much through firmware, but Switchbot has sent me a lengthy email citing fixes relating to the latest firmware for switchbot and other notes relating to this specific review. This is some of the best response to feedback I've had from any tech company and I applaud them for doing that, hence I've buffed my 3 stars to a 5. Definitely a first gen product, though still (thankfully) reliable enough to be a day to day smartlock. Auto lock works... 80% of the time. I end up relying on re-lock in order to lock my door for the 20%. There really needs to be an interface that shows the strength of the magnet you placed on the door so that you can tell if the lock is detecting whether or not it's closed reliably. Speaking of the magnet, why isn't there a UI element showing us whether or not the lock thinks it's closed or not? It's really hard to diagnose the autolock because of this, as I have no idea if the lock thinks the door is closed or open. There also needs to be some interface dedicated to the threshold for unlock detection. My door unlocks the lock as soon as you push down the handle, but the rotation of the lock when you do that is different if you were to unlock the lock directly. This meant there needed to be a lot of finaggling done in order to get the switchbot to detect the door's unlock rotation properly. There are a lot of other minor issues (such as the app, which is awful), but don't let any of these criticisms deter you from buying the switchbot. It's basically the only product of its class that's able to be installed on top of a normal lock, and the only smartlock people who are renting get to install on their doors. If you're willing to deal with a lot of trial and error and debugging, it's definitely worth the purchase. Still, will be buying the gen 2 as soon as that comes out.

Overall I have been extremely happy with the product and support. The installation was quick and easy (make sure to follow instructions) And support was great in turning around a replacement piece that broke for the keypad within 2 weeks. Shipped new product to help with issue and no customs was required. Great experience overall and happy to have found the product.
