It’s time (once again) to begin my annual ritual of purchasing DVD sets of my favorite TV shows. First up this year: “NCIS” Season 14, which has just become available for pre-order on Amazon.Because I already own a “season pass” for “NCIS” Season 14 on Amazon Video, I was able to watch every episode on the day after it originally aired on CBS. Several changes quickly became evident after the departure of Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and the premature death of series showrunner Gary Glasberg. Three new characters – Special Agents Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Alex Quinn (Jennifer Esposito), and MI5 liaison officer Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry) introduced themselves. I had some initial reservations about these new characters, but by season’s end, they had acquitted themselves very well, each bringing a different but very effective dynamic to the show.The veteran actors and older characters have undergone some changes that I think have sometimes not worked out so well. Special Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) seems more passive as team leader, although he still barks orders at his team when he feels he needs to. Tim McGee (Sean Murray) has matured into a capable senior field agent, although he still exhibits many of his long-held insecurities. Ellie Bishop is growing more capable as a full-fledged special agent; however, I think Emily Wickersham can do more to strengthen her character and make her a more influential female presence on the team. Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), Dr. Donald (“Ducky”) Mallard (David McCallum), and Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) continue to excel in their supporting roles. Director Leon Vance seems to have largely retreated into the background, only appearing in about half the season’s episodes.Before the first episode aired, I was a bit skeptical about how this fourteenth season would fare without Tony DiNozzo. Would there be less chemistry among the characters and the actors playing them? As the season progressed, it was evident this wasn’t the case. Taken as a whole, “NCIS” Season 14 is very nearly as good as the thirteen seasons that preceded it. The new cast members all fit in very nicely. Although there is some unevenness in the writing quality of some episodes, I think the fourteenth season of “NCIS” still manages to uphold its high production values and standards of excellence very well. Highly recommended. (4½ Stars ^ 5)

We only watch videos, TV is a no go for us for years now. We love old TV programs & this has always been a favorite.

Some new people but still a really good season!

This DVD set arrived quickly and each disc is in remarkable condition

I added season 14 to make sure that I had the complete NCIS series. This is one of the best series on TV but just not sure if the series can continue after the completion of season 15 when Abby is scheduled to leave the show. The Gibbs character is as good as ever but with the loss of both Ziva and Tony I am not sure if the replacements can carry the show especially with Abby leaving and rumors of Duckie leaving I think the series will have to go quietly into the night. No one wants an excellent series like this to become a tiresome one with actors that just can't hold the show together. It would be better if they just quietly let the 15 seasons be the completed season. No one wants to just trying to like the show when it doesn't hold up. I don't know what the writers and producers will do but if they decide to end the series while it is on a great high with all its fans it would be better than just dragging it out until it loses all the loyal fans. I have the complete series on dvd and can continue to enjoy it for years. I would hate to see the series just go down hill until there is no choice but to end it. Just the opinion of a very loyal fan.

Started watching season 14 and though Tony and Ziva are gone, the new characters seem interesting and bring the laughs. After season 15, when Abby leaves, that's the end to NCIS as far as we are concerned. Most of the main cast leave by then anyway...

This is how I Love watching NCIS. All the correct episodes and all in tact. This is Perfect. I am anxiously awaiting NCIS Season Fifteen. Thank YouPlease let me know when Season Fifteen is available. Ncis season 14 is awesome. It completes my collection. Now I'll sit patiencely foe season 20 of Ncis.
