You would not know this is a replacement for an OEM part. Everything about this palm pad is identical to the original. The product came bubble wrapped and packed in a box professionally - Arrived without damage at all. Everything functions correctly even the backlight. I have zero experience with laptop hardware. I found 30 minute videos on You Tube and I was able to transfer everything over in under an hour. Now, nothing to do with the product itself, but two things gave me a little struggle - figuring out the ribbon connections have little swing up hinges to release the connector ribbons (the You Tube videos showed them being removed but not how), and finding the sweet spot to plug the WIFI cable back into the card because it's so tiny and I have big hands. I also replaced the thermal paste since this laptop is 6 years old. So all I used or needed was thermal paste, a small Phillips screwdriver, and a toothpick (I used a toothpick to either guide or to apply pressure). I couldn't even imagine how much money and downtime I saved. Excellent!

I wasn't sure which touchpad I had so I purchased both variations and am returning the one that I didn't need. It fits and works perfectly! This is the second time I've had to replace the keyboard assembly on my HP laptop due to the poor design of the hinges (WAY too tight) and the cheap plastic used. This replacement keyboard actually feels more sturdy than the original so hopefully it will last longer than that one did (6 months!!). I swear if the laptop itself didn't perform well, I would've just scrapped it. HP REALLY needs to fix this hinge design or use metal anchors to secure the screws instead of plastic. It's horrible!

Works great and easy install. After my customers cat urinated on their keyboard several of the keys stooped working. Replaced keyboard and now we have a happy customer.

Mechanically this is fine. There is no keyboard backlighting. I replaced this with one from another manufacturer and it also has no keyboard back lighting so there may be something wrong with my laptop.

I have a 17" HP laptop and over time, the hinges just seemed to get tighter and tighter until the plastic screw housings just snapped. I had to either buy a new laptop or attempt to replace the top half of the computer, which includes the keyboard and touchpad. I wish there had been instructions or an instructional video, but I found one on YouTube. It took me about 2 hours to figure out, but I did it! The most important thing is that it works! The only thing different from my original keyboard is that instead of the backlight being bright or dim, it's blue or white, which works for me.
