Re 46 in umbrella-large enough for two? weight? length when closed? length of handle when open?

If you need a larger size umbrella, the umbrella of 54" inch large Reverse Umbrella is larger size than 46". You can see more detail dimensions in the 6th image on the product page.
The umbrella of 54" is a larger size, it is more suitable to use in the car, large enough for two. But it may a liitle heavy for traveling with your backpack.

After collapsed, can you manually push it back to open without having to fully closeit again first, for when the auto eventually stops working?

After collapsed, if you manually push it back to open, it will not stay open. It is needed to manually push it back to full close it, so that the auto open function will work again.

how much does it weigh?

I am not sure of the weight but compared to cheaper ones it is heavier.  I noticed that immediately.  I presume that it is due to the "steel"  spokes.

Will this holdup to the Chicago hawk(wind) ?

Umbrella did turn inside out during some heavy Chicago wind/rain, but quickly fixed and didn’t seem to damage the umbrella at all.
