Kids love it, it's not my favorite counting book
Okay go ahead and call me lazy. But I really don't enjoy counting to 100 ten or so times in one book. The pictures are cute, and there is an element of "where's waldo" seek and find in there, which my kids love. Even though I keep trying to hide it, my kids like reading it.

Not a story
You're literally just counting on each page. I could have just drawn 100 items on a page and saved some money...

2 year old loves the seek-and-find portion.
This book is great!!! There is a simple story, but also different things to find for each 100 characters. In addition, on the last page, there is something specific to find. She absolutely loves this part. On the pages with 100 moles, you are to find a "tooting" mole. He is passing gas, and our daughter thinks this is hilarious!!! We found this book at the library and after returning the book, my wife quickly jumped on Amazon to order our own.

Good counting book
I got this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. I love the colorful and creative illustrations. I was a little nervous it would be sort of lame, but it was better than I expected. Yes, it is a counting book where you just count to 100 (or whatever you want up to 100) on each page, but it does have interest. It isn't the book she picks from the shelf, but if we want to do counting it makes it fun.

Thumbs up!
What a beautiful book! It has been so fun practicing counting with my children. There are so many different animals and things to count! I love how most of them are divided into tens and all the little funny extras hidden throughout the book.

Not what I expected. Many animals per page. ...
Not what I expected . Many animals per page. No numbers to count off each. For older child who is already familiar with counting to 100

Great advanced counting book!
My son and I both enjoyed this book. I love math books, and this one was no exception. Instead of a simple counting book, this book features 100 items on each page. And rather than count to 100 on each page, which would have driven me crazy, there were challenges on each page, i.e. How many ants are carrying a piece of candy? And on some pages the items were colored in groups of 10 items of each color, so we got to practice counting by 10s as well. It was a nice review and reinforcement of counting. And it was so fun!The best part is that on the last page of the book there are specific items you have to go back through the book and find. We really enjoyed that part. Some of them were kind of tricky as the image was superimposed or flipped upside within the actual book pages.I'm not sure I'd buy this book because it might not be as fun after a couple of times reading it through (unless your child is still learning to count to 100). But it was a great library find. There are others in the series, so we may need to get some of those.[...]

Counting to 100 made fun
My kindergarten class loves this book. Each page is filled with 100 objects- cats, houses, birds, elephants, etc- some similar, some different, some grouped in tens, some randomly scattered. Hidden among the various animals and objects, the author has placed ladybugs, food, hats, and other details that help create an I-Spy reading experience. We have used this book in class to discuss numbers, counting, skip counting, sorting, patterns, quantities, and more. When I am not reading to them, the students love to scour the pages for every last detail, searching for the hidden objects listed in the back and having fun challenging each other to find specific details. It is one of the few books that stays in my classroom library year round as the students never tire of it. Be warned though: the word "farting" does appear, with a "You stink!" in response. If you are sensitive to this, watch out for the page with the moles!

Cute animal counting book
My kids love this book, specifically because it has an image of a farting mole on one of the pages. It is adorable.

more fun than a number based book has any right to be
This book is brilliant, funny and cute. Fun for counting, but also for spotting wacky stuff.
