Q: The mtb cable end barrel is smaller in diameter than shimano's (the part that goes into the brake lever). has anyone had any issues with that?

I installed this last spring and used the bike daily for several month. It hasn't been a problem for me.

Approximately three meters long (3.3 feet is 1 meter). Should be long enough to reach your rear wheel depending on the mounts and size of your bike.

Q: Can these fit on a Mongoose Malus?

I don't see any reason that they shouldn't. As long as the brakes are cable actuated, you should be fine.

Q: what is the diameter of the cable ?? I want to use cable stops that screw on to the cable and need the diameter to order the correct ones.

It's somewhere between 1.2-1.3mm
