The camera and app are really easy to set up and use. The solar panel has been amazing as this has kept the battery fully charged for me which is a definite bonus. The only issue I am having is that I am getting alerts for everything everywhere, apart from on the area I actually want covered. I have changed settings and reset them etc and this really is likely just a me problem as everything g else is working great and I am very pleased with the product.

Very easy to set up a install. It comes with one battery, so best to buy another so you have one in the camera and one charged. Excellent picture and sound quality and well worth the price will recommend to anyone

Second one we have bought and now have one at front door and one in back garden. They are fantastic for two cameras we pay 7.99 a month and get alerts on them both and playback plus live feed. Great price for a quality camera. Battery life is pretty good considering in constant use. Connect to WiFi with no issues at all. Easy to set up and app works great, easy to use. Smart looking too.

I originally ordered the camera without the solar panel but the camera just didn’t work properly and it didn’t pick up every motion I ordered another one with the solar panel, but not yet installed the solar panel, and this camera seems to pick up everything… every movement I make, before installing it properly outside, it picks it up every time… very impressive I have given 4 stars because it seems to depend on the unit that is supplied…some work well but others don’t seem to work that well with motion detection This particular unit seems to work extremely well and I’m getting notifications every time I move I will update this review once it’s been installed properly The AI notification descriptions are quite spooky! Very accurate Don’t be put off by this only being 1080p quality as the video is sharp Highly recommended

Very impressed with the camera.Set up was easy & navigating to various options on the ring app is excellent.Picture quality is better than I expected even at night.Only downside is the brightness of the security light.It’s bright enough but it’s a yellow like colour & not the cool white but it’s good enough.I have a lot of hive products in my house which include lights so I linked the camera to Alexa & found a routine where it’ll turn on my passage light if the camera detects motion at night time, so it’s an added security feature.Bar that it’s a great product.

I have built up an array of 6 ring devices connected to perform various camera/doorbell variations. For this review I will focus on just the Spotlight camera. As stated on my other Ring reviews, unless your needs are urgent, wait for the inevitable sale in January, Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day, Full Moon Day, Rainbow in the Sky Day or whatever the marketing types have cooked up.This camera is for outside and is weather resistant. I have mounted it below a hanging basket to give it a little more protection. To mount it you need to drill a few holes for the mount. I was new to doing this but a few YouTube videos and a careful drill purchase instructed me how to do it. The camera comes in two variations. Wired and battery. I bought the battery version. This model is unusual to the other Ring cameras in that it can hold two batteries. They are the quick release batteries common to Ring camera range. It works just fine for me with one battery. If you are going to use just battery power make sure you place the camera where you can easily change them without resorting to ladders every time. The downside of making it more accessible of course is that it could be tampered with or stolen. There is a USB connection at the back that can be connected to a Ring Solar Panel. I bought one of these as well and from May the 1st to the 1st of January in the UK I have not had to change the battery once. It has just the one battery in it. The cameras charging will depend on factors such as the solar panel placement, how much activity is recorded by the camera and how you configure motion recording plus how you configure the light usage. All the standard ring camera configuration options are there with the standard user-friendly application on your smart phone. You can then fine tune configure it. Multiple motion detection zones, audio recording on/off, infrared on/off, night vision colour option recording time up to 120 seconds, on/off, smart motion detection for motion detecting just people and motion detection sensitivity are all standard. You can connect it to your Amazon Alexa Echo to give you a verbal ‘Motion Detection’ alert if you want as well. You can also configure it to determine if the lights switch on when movement is detected. You can also set them to not come on for periods of time via a schedule. The motion detection will work even if the lights do not come on during the day or by schedule selection at night. The light does not significantly improve the recordings in my experience over the standard outside Stick up cameras I have. The spotlight camera is however much more expensive that the versions without the lights. If you want somebody to be under no illusion the camera is recording the lights will do that. Note it additionally has the little pinhole blue light. This comes on when recording on all Ring cameras. The only way to stop the little blue light is to put a bit of black tape over it. Doing this does not impact the performance of the camera. I bought the Spotlight version because I have a black patch at the rear of my house that I want to be able to see clearly when walking through it and check the area before venturing out. At night it is very dark and I felt this option would save me fitting a separate solar light to illuminate the area. It does this well. If you have limited space for an array of devices on your walls or are just plain tired of having so many devices cluttering up the side of your house this might be for you. Overall I think I could have managed with a separate solar light but that would have still have meant another mount with drilling. Due to the location of the camera the solar panel needs to be connected round the corner to pick up enough sun. I’d therefore have to have a separate solar light with a long cable to the separate solar panel which would be two more mounts. Be aware you can get solar lights with built on solar panels ( one mount in total ) for cheaper than the cost difference between a stick up camera and the spotlight camera. It depends on your needs. As with all Ring cameras make sure you choose the right model for the need you are Ring to satisfy. There is a wired Floodlight version that looks to be a more powerful light source. So yes it does the job for me. It’s reliable, saved me an extra pair of mounts, works well with the separate Solar Panel I bought, is easy to configure and gives a good picture with a wide angle.

i purchased this camera with an extra battery and the solar panel as it being battery i did not want to be recharging batteries every week. the camera itself is excellent especially with the lights as it illuminates what is otherwise a pitch black corner. where the bins are stored. I already have 2 wired cameras in the garden/driveway so adding a 3rd to the account was a breeze. I find the function of the ring app more than acceptable and user friendly. if you re looking at illuminating a large area then maybe the wired floodtlight camera is the way to go. Thanks to being able to set a zone. my next door neighbour is not detected so not recorded. nore do they trigger the light. I did also assure them that i was not out to film them. Due to the position of this camera it’s in a high congestion walkway. as we constantly use the back door. (dogs don’t trigger the camera unless they actually jump up at the door) The batteries are lasting well. and i am constantly checking their energy levels. the lowest point i have seen so far is %82 on one battery. but the slightest bit of sun light and it’s straight back up to over %90 which to me is good as it’s currently winter and there is a lack of direct sun light. so the solar panel does as intended. The app also detects automatically if a solar panel is connected. It’s still very much early days yet as to how well this all fairs, but i feel a bit more relaxed knowing as yet it’s working as intended. The video clip is just to show how well the light works as i said it’s usually a pitch black corner. ignore the sound as it was quite breezy.

The first camera stopped working in about a week time. Thanks to Amazon, the replacement camera has been sent very quickly. But, another camera stopped working after three months. Waste of money, waste of time on installation. I spent two days finding for solution to fix the camera. It is a 100% manufacturer fault. NEVER EVER BUY Ring camera. Absolutely terrible experience. Update: Hi, I have been asked by Jakub, Ring Executive Customer Relations, to share my experience with the Ring camera. There we are. 1. Purchase process was fine. Delivery is perfect. I installed the camera myself, everything was working fine. I paid subscription to the app. All the experience was just amazing. I had notifications, very clear picture and lovely working app, nice option to view footage. 2. One day I noticed that the camera was not working. I can see a picture in the app, but there is no live view and no notifications. That was the point where all the trouble started. 3. If the camera can be exchanged to a new one, that would be the best solution, but if I am facing to contact Ring support, that could be a huge trouble. There are some reviews in internet that Ring just ask you to reset the camera, reconnect, remove the battery and basically, but they do not want to exchange the camera. 4. I had a day off and tried to fix the problem myself. I tried different chargers, thinking that it could be a power issue. No result. I removed the battery. I did factory reset. I tried to connect to same network, there were no result. Than I have bought a brand new router, made a new wifi network, I tried to connect it to the new network, no result. The camera was connecting, then switching off, drop connection, no live view. 5. I spend two full days playing with the camera. My finding was that there were update by the Ring or by the camera itself, and after the update the camera software did not work properly. It is loading to a certain point, but the main functionality of the camera did not work. 6. I can not update the camera myself, it is the Ring area of business. I can not sort the camera software myself, it is too deep for me. I have tied everything what was possible to try by a normal person, maybe as advanced technical person, sorry it did not help. 7. I spent too much time on this camera. I spent too much money on the camera and a new router. I believe the whole experience with cctv should be much easier and should not involve all the actions above. 8. I truly believe that the trouble with the camera is on the Ring side. I believe the camera update is faulty or the camera could not properly update itself. 9. The camera is not working. Total waste of money and time.

Con un uso intensivo, no supera las tres semanas, aunque tiene la ventaja de que cuenta con un segundo compartimento para añadir una segunda batería, lo que puede alargar su autonomía. Es importante tener en cuenta que esta cámara funciona exclusivamente con baterías y no puede conectarse ni a la corriente ni a placas solares. Por lo tanto, no graba las 24 horas, sino que solo almacena grabaciones cuando detecta movimiento o cuando accedes a la vista en vivo. En definitiva, si buscas una cámara de exterior con una calidad de imagen excepcional, buena detección de movimiento y sonido de alta calidad, esta es una opción excelente. Solo hay que tener en cuenta la autonomía de la batería y la necesidad de recargarla periódicamente. Muy recomendable.

Well worth it. Amazing couldn’t describe it. Installing it is easy, Quality is great, battery life is good, light feature is very bright along with the speaker its very loud as I have it on max setting. I can hear the person speaking into the camera from 15 meters away… handy for the countryside or city and great as you can turn it up or down from settings on the phone . Must get !!! Cutting edge technology!!!!!

Straordinario! Comprate 4 videocamere approfittando degli sconti amazon/ring. Si montano molto facilmente: si inchioda una base di supporto al muro, da cui poi la videocamera si può attaccare/staccare con facilità. Anche la configurazione è molto semplice. Qualità video/audio ottima, con visione notturna, luci automatiche e microfono/speaker integrato. La batteria dura anche 2 mesi con una sola ricarica, se vengono presi alcuni accorgimenti come per esempio diminuire l'intesità della luce del faro (ottima appunto la possibilità di poterlo fare) ed eccellente il fatto di poter inserire due batterie (funziona anche con una e basta). Forse l'unica cosa non intuitivissima è l'app, ma ci si prende mano. Ovviamente poi bisogna sottoscrivere un abbonamento per usufruire di tutte le sue potenzialità (quello massimo dovrebbe essere poco piu di 100 euro all'anno). Davvero soddistatto. con 350 euro mi sono comprato e montato 4 videocamere controllate da remoto con visione nottura e audio/speaker, e con l'abbonamento ho registrazione h24. Un impianto simile fatto da un'azienda l'avrei pagato migliaia di euro
