First time I tried this particular saffron. Very nice packaging and comes with a little spoon. The saffron itself is incredibly fragrant, and gave my Paella a nice, classic yellow color with authentic taste. The price is great compared to other brands, and I like that it's produced from a small family farm in Spain. As for the use in Paella, I split my portion in two: half in the broth and steep slightly before adding to the pan. The other half is mixed in as the rice is added to the pan before I pour the broth in. Beforehand, I place the portion slated for the rice in a small ramekin with a touch of olive oil and "crush" lightly with a spoon to bring out the flavor. I never skimp on the Saffron - too much is way better than not enough! :-)

This was the best Quality Saffron I have used so far. Growing up having Safron as it’s used in our food as a major ingredient I could tell the quality was very superior as soon as I opened the box.The strands were very fresh and not dried out with a beautiful deep color.I added a few strands in warm milk and they changed the Color and the aroma was great.The customer service is Excellent and I usually don’t leave feed back but due to their follow up even after the order was received to confirm of everything was up to my expectations.Will be placing another order in January and refer my family members as customers.

The first thing I noticed is the color and smell of this saffron -- deep red orange with the delicate clear smell of saffron. Yum!!! I did not give all 5 stars because the cannister is difficult to open. I ended up prying it open with a flathead screwdriver being extra careful not to lose any of the saffron!!! I ended up putting it all in my previous saffron container. ** NOTE: bought this saffron in 2020 and two years later, the strands are equally red and it still smells the same as I used some yesterday for biryani. YUM!

Above and beyond doesn't even Come close to describing this purchase. I got something like 4 grams of saffron for around 20 bucks. I expected mid quality because it was cheaper than some others. As soon as I opened the amazon package I smelled brand new fresh shoe leather (which is what good saffron smells like to me) without even opening the package. I opened the package and found good quality saffron that smelled pretty darn good. I put it away in my cupboard happy.I then went to throw away the packaging and found another surprise! They included some sort of Golden metal spoon with a (I'm sure cheap/fake) gemstone in it. The spoon is very heavy and the gemstone (fake) at least looks very nice. That whole thing was a VERY nice touch in a very good purchase. I will be buying this brand every time now.

Excellent Quality and Real - Since Saffron is commonly faked since it is the most expensive pice (by weight), I like to leave reviews to help both inexperienced and experienced saffron buyers. I have encountered many fakes even at grocery stores. This is not a fake.Authenticity test include smelling and evaluating the threads by soaking in water. Fake saffron will do several things that will clearly identify them as fake.After adding a few threads to some water, the water should be bright yellow and clear while the threads will retain their dark color on the entire thread. Fake saffron will produce a water the is not quite as vibrant but also muddled. For fake, the dye soaks off and the threads start to disintegrate and some of the threads will turn a white color as the dye wears off.In the pictures, you will see the water is bright yellow and clear. The all of the threads stayed dark and retained their shape. I even took the threads out of the water on one picture to show NO disintegration.The smell was full and fresh and it tasted wonderful. It was packaged nice and the spoon, while not really useful was really cute and a nice little gift.Lastly, you can see in the pictures great quantity. They did not skimp on the product as some places do not pack the full quantity as advertised. That was not the case with this one.Based on what I received, I highly recommend. You should be able to buy with confidence, that you are receiving, high guality authentic saffron.

I bought this for my father who is a retired French chef. Paella is one of my favorite of all the dfishes he makes. He is SOOOOO hard to buy for but expensive high quality exotic ingredients for him to create with are always welcome. I kept the box in it shipping bubble wrap to keep the mystery but the amazing aroma gave it away as he lifted the package out of hs gift bag. As soon as the waft of the unmistakable fragrance hit him he gave a quick an knowing glance my way accompanied with a twinkle and that laugh like a Santa's Ho Ho Ho with a French accent "Hon Hon Hon". He LOVED it AND we are invited for Paella dinner,.. Ha my plan WORKED! Seriously, I was a little nervous because of the affordability but the frangrance is clearly from a quality product. Hightly recommend!

Very strong aroma and true saffron flavor! I've been making paella since 1973 after a visit to Barcelona while in the US Navy...I had not heard of paella, but we let the waiter pick the meal for a couple of young sailors...how fortunate he picked paella. It's been a life long love affair with both paella and saffron. I used this saffron to make a seafood Paella and it was grand...what more can I say?I will reorder this brand!

Saffron is an expensive product to buy, but I needed some for a special recipe I was intending to make for a special family dinner. I was very impressed with this product, not only it’s color and flavor, but the whole presentation. The tiny gold spoon was a nice added touch and the price was very competitive with other saffron products I saw at other places. I was very pleased with this product.
