Nice handles
Bought one of these for my 10” half round back in May, got the one in the middle. Came back to get another for my 12” round, got the one on the right. Both work equally well. Secure, super tight connection after a couple whacks with a soft mallet. Wish they made one that would fit the big boy on the left. I suppose it could work, sort of, but I don’t want half or more of the tang hanging out. Crescent also makes an adjustable universal handle, but I would prefer one like this.

Nice handle, good price
This is a nice file handle for the price. The file fits snuggly in the handle and the handle is comfortable.

Works great--a variety of inserts fit many types of files
From thin round files to large wide flat files there are four different sized inserts to accommodate whatever type of file you might want to install in the handle. Once installed, the combination of pressure from the insert being installed into the handle makes for a rock solid grip--even tiny round 5/32 files are held firmly in place. Pro-tip: When you want to remove a file from the handle, apply a heat gun for a few seconds and removal becomes easy. Im cases where installation of a new file into the insert and/or the handle is difficult applying the heat gun briefly will make installation a breeze and after the insert and handle have cooled the new file is mounted rock solid. I will definitely buy this handle and insert set again. I use a wide variety of files for metal working and for sharpening chainsaws and of the "non-fixed" handles that come separate from files this is far and away my favorite.

Great File Handle
I purchased several of these handles in various sizes to fit on a variety of files I own. They come with different inserts that enable them to fit several file sizes. You select the insert size that best fit the tang on your file and press it on. Then hold the file with a gloved hand and tap it sharply on a solid surface. That is it. Since they have a hole you can hang them of just put them in a drawer. I wish I could find sheath that would fit over the file surface to protect it from hitting other files or tools when in a drawer. I recommend these file handles.

Easy to install, works with most files, grips like crazy and feels good in the hand.
There's not a lot to say that's bad about this product. The two adapters it comes with do a reasonably good job at making the handle compatible with most files. I've attached these handles to Nicholson and Craftsman files from 8 inches to 12 inches long and so far, no problems getting them to stay attached. The only reason I gave it four stars is that the tabs on the files don't fit all the way into the handle, which makes the file turn in the handle slightly when you're really going to town on a piece of metal. The price is reasonable for what it is. You should get one for every file you own and just plan on keeping them mounted permanently. It's a bit of a chore to disengage the file from the handle after it's been pushed in. Country of origin is China.

So-so
This handle comes with two inserts designed to adapt various file sizes to the handle. Neither were appropriate to the 12" rasp that I bought along with it. It may be useful for another of my files ... an 8" perhaps. So, right now this handle is holding the very tip of the file's 'tail'. I ordered a larger handle for this file. On it own merits, this unit seems to be a pretty decent and comfortable file handle.

Nice firm fit, and very comfortable!
Bought two - Installed one on a 7 inch long rat tail file, and the other on a 8 inch half round. The inserts seem to be slightly more flexible than the material of the handle. The half-round went in with a few smart whacks on the workbench with the handle down and file upwards. I used relatively light force from a small arbor press to seat the insert in the handle for the rat-tail because beating on it wasn't working easily. Gripping the file gently in a vise and whacking on the handle would have done the same thing. Once seated, they hold the files nice and firmly, and are very comfortable. A little pricy, but I think they are worth it. My hands, and the work I am doing with the files are much better now. I will save up and buy more of them.

Nicholson has a reputation for making good quality files and rasps as well as related accessories such as handles. I have been very satisfied with the products I have bought i.e. files, wood rasps and handles with and without inserts.

Price is pretty good. But quality is so so. The insert that I need is the one with cross (X shape) cavity. It comes with some crap inside. It looks like some rubber is left inside during manufacturing. I need to use a heavy hammer to force the file handle in. Also I don't appreciate why the seller did not specify what types and size files the inserts fit. But that size chart is clearly printed on the package (and 12" size is not one of those listed). No wonder a few customs are upset because the handle does not fit 12" files.
