Good Price on A Useful Product With Comments on Afib
This supplement is good for people who do NOT get enough nuts, greens, and fish on a daily basis. Wholemega is not a substitute for Omega 3 supplements that provide higher amounts of EPA and DHA. These capsules are a bit of a challenge to swallow (I recommend something thick like Slimfast or V8) and can give a bit of a fishy aftertaste. I take both the Wholemega and Omega 3 supplements daily (for a total of 2 grams of Omega oils) but have to watch for low blood pressure and excessive bleeding because I already eat a diet high in salmon, nuts, and greens. I've only taken the Wholemega for a couple of weeks but the most obvious changes from five years of Omega 3 supplements have been thicker hair growth and fewer problems with osteoarthritis. My heart is healthy and my vision and memory haven't gotten any worse but the supplements haven't prevented recurring skin cancers. Nutrition Action has a great article online titled "Omega Medicine? - Is fish oil good for what ails you?" Here's their bottom line: So far, there's decent evidence that DHA and EPA--the omega-3 fats in fish oil--can reduce your risk of a heart attack, but not your risk of cancer, memory loss, or macular degeneration. - Eat fatty fish like salmon twice a week. That would supply 500 to 1,000 mg a day of DHA plus EPA. - If you're a vegetarian, look for foods or supplements with DHA from algal oil. - If you have heart disease, follow the American Heart Association's advice to take 1,000 mg a day of DHA + EPA from fish oil. If you have side effects like burping, take them at bedtime or ask your doctor for a prescription for pure fish oil. - Taking more than 3,000 mg a day of DHA plus EPA may cause bleeding. Addendum: After 10 years of taking 2 to 3 grams of omega three daily, I've developed Afib. Research suggests that taking high dosages of EPA might be a preciptating factor of Afib (search NIH database). I'm switching to a version that is higher in DHA. 2015 Addendum: I switched to Now Foods DHA-500 and the Afib has been under control for two years. I still take an additional 2 grams of whatever omega 3 Costco has on sale. 2016 Addendum: Prompted by comments to this post, I again reviewed scientific research of the effect of omega 3 oils on AFIB and found lots of conflicting results and conclusions. A 2008 meta-analysis of 12 controlled studies "...showed that fish oil supplementation did not have a significant effect on arrhythmias and all-cause mortality." clinicalcorrelations.org/?p=8650.

Best fish oil for the price.
*** I WAS NOT COMPENSATED FOR THIS REVIEW. I exchanged my currency for these goods. *** Ok, I love this stuff. It's really pure fish oil, and for those of us who are settling into middle age but hate the high cholesterol and perpetual inflammation ... your choices are either "eat lots of flax and salmon" or "take fish oil". Or, I suppose, both? Anyway, my big problems with fish oil are multifold: 1. Fishy burps. 2. Heartburn. 3. Potentially low quality oil with lots of unhealthy stuff in it. 4. High price if it's good quality. 5. Lots of junk fish in there, resulting in oil that has the required Omega-3's but not much else. 6. If you forget to take them and leave them in your pocket all day and they go through the wash, you will never wear that pair of pants again. Ever. Unless you are attending a sardine packing convention. So this stuff is normally kind of pricey, but not as pricey as other high quality, high potency oils. And in this larger pack it was quite a good bargain. 1. Not very much in the way of fishy burps. 2. Heartburn is minimized. 3. High quality wild salmon with low filler and no bad chemicals. 4. The entire omega profile, not just basic Omega-3. 5. If it explodes in your pocket, your pants will still reek... but they will reek like herbs. So instead of everyone thinking you spilled sardines on yourself, they will think you work in an Italian kitchen. Most of these are due to the high quality fish used, and the stabilizing solution which is comprised of Oregano and Rosemary oils.

Best of its kind
Of all the companies I researched this one is the best. I have been using it for about 25 years. It says 2 pills on the label in the beginning I took 3 twice a day. Now I take 2 once a day. Helped my dry eyes and joints

To Fish Burp or Not To Fish Burp?
That's always my burning question when it comes to fish oil supplements. So how does this one do? So-so. I get the fishy burps (FBs) about half the time. It's a little better if I take them at night. As far as FBs go, these are not bad, perhaps because they are made of salmon oil and not anchovy oil like some others. Of course, if you don't like fish, then you may be in trouble. The only supplements I've found where I have had absolutely no FBs are the ones that are enteric coated, so they don't get digested as quickly and therefore don't cause the FBs. Source Naturals makes one. That being said, I really like that these are made from salmon oil and extracted using a similar "extra virgin" process as olive oil. That means (according to the company) that the natural vitamin D and other nutrients are preserved and not filtered out. Here are the some of the supplement facts from the back of the label: Total fat: 2000 mg -Monounsaturated: 840 mg -Polyunsaturated: 680 mg Vitamin D3: 100 IU Total Omega-3 Fatty Acids: 520 mg -EPA: 180 mg -DHA: 220 mg -Other: 120 mg Total Omega-6 Fatty Acids: 90 mg Total Omega-5, 7, 8 Fatty Acids: 100 mg Total Omega-9 Fatty Acids: 650 mg Gluten-free. Other Ingredients: extracts of rosemary, oregano, sunflower oil, and natural mixed tocopherols.

Great quality worth the buy
This is the quality you look for in a fish oil pill. There is almost no smell to it and when you open the jar it doesn’t give you the ick from a pungent fish smell. The pill is easy to swallow. Non gmo and the joints no longer hurt. Been taking it two months now and already notice a a slight change.

Fantastic value
These are the best quality fish oil available. I have used many brands over the years and my research has led me to these. Also, and this was the clincher (to be fair), these are the best value anyware on the web. You can't get better than that!

Love it!
Great product, doesn't have any strong taste or smell, I always take it before or during the meal, I don't have any stomach problems so I think it is well absorbed. Skin and hair looks better, but anyone will know it who takes omega oil.
