Amazon Basics Ventilated, Height-Adjustable Laptop Stand with cord organiser

So this is really easy to set up, basically works straight out of the box. great for its purpose to lift the laptop up at an angle, and gives it more room to get air into it, which is great, especially on a gaming laptophowever, there are a couple of little flaws with it that are annoying, but not enough that I wanted to send it back, I just had to make some adjustments.first, on the left side of mine, there is a really sharp edge to one bit of metal, I could see me cutting myself on it, so I've stuck a little blutack on it, and that's sorted it.secondly, I found that the little ledges on the bottom that are to stop the laptop slipping off the stand stick up far too high,(especially now that most laptops are very slim lined) so you either have to hold your wrist at an awkward angle to avoid them or rest them on these ledges, which becomes quite sore/uncomfortable quite quickly. It would have been good if the stand included a little prop up here that could lift the front edge of the laptop to be in line with the ledges, but instead, I'd opted to put some cardboard under the laptop, just at these points, which has made all the difference.finally, all the angles that it gives you as adjustable height options are pretty high. the lowest one is just at the point I can manage it, any higher and I think the blood would be running away from my fingers as I typed.so overall, a good laptop stand, but does need a couple of little adjustments to get it just right.

Variable angles, strong, sturdy, all black, metal. I'm always a little surprised when Amazon come out with these products and they turn out to be decent, and I was again. This is a great stand especially for the price. It covers all the angles I never need it to and it's quite easy to adjust. So what is my complaint? Well, the system that this stand uses to ensure that the laptop doesn't just slide off is a couple of metallic guards at the bottom. My problem with these is that they are quite deep - the protrude well above the thickness of any reasonable laptop. I have a surface book, which is quite thick, and these stick out above that. What does that mean? One thing, in general, means that when you're trying to use the laptop, these little guards dig in to your palms. For me, specifically, I also had the issue that the power button on a Surfacebook is on the top, and the laptop would keep turning off when I closed the lid. I had to manually bend these guards down a little to maintain it's purpose but have less of an effect on me. I get it - this stand is probably not designed to be used while the laptop is on it, it's most just a place to keep your laptop when it's connected to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. But it wouldn't have taken too much to fix this minor issue. What kind of laptop would need more than a full inch thick guards to ensure the laptop didn't slide off? Anyway, for the price that it is, I can't complaining. It's a minor issue.

I've been using this product since July 2018...and despite having several different laptop stands...this stand is a fantastic bit of kit. My laptops run significantly cooler...which has the additional benefit of running significantly quieter. The laptop coolers I have and had (most have failing or failed cooling fans) have all required usb power to run the fans, which also were noisy...the beauty of this laptop stand wins on so many levels:no power neededno noisesuperior cooling by way of the mesh designit is lighter than all my other laptop standssuper easy to keep cleanit feels cool on your lap!and it has a nice feel to touchI just wish that Amazon made a larger one! It will fit all laptops, even my 17" laptops fit, albeit hanging over the edges. But if there were larger options I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one of each, as this laptop stand is a joy to use, and I would use the different sized versions for my different sized laptops, but also to accommodate my requirements on how compact or spacious I want my stand in terms of comfort on my lap, seating position, etc.There is nothing 'basic' about this 'AmazonBasics' laptop stand, I've been using it on an almost daily basis for over 2 years, and it looks and feels the same as the day I received it!I don't hesitate to recommend purchasing this item with confidence

I ordered this as I’ve just had a hip replacement, I already had a tablet stand for my lap, but it wasn’t adjustable.It is very flimsy, however saying that it holds my 12.5 Dell Inspiration nicely, and isn’t that heavy on my lap. The metal is soft mesh, and this allows my 2-1 Dell much better cooling system.The two hold-ups at the front to stop the device from slipping into your lap are to high, there a good 20mm high, making it painful to use the keyboard, I will be cutting these down in due cause.There are four rubber grips on the bottom, which are no use at all, not even when on a table. Again I will be removing these and adding a thin piece of ply wood, and replacement rubber grips.Even though there are thin metal strips, designed to strengthen the mesh, they could of been slightly thicker, giving it a more stronger feel. There is plenty of room between the base and top, making this possible to make use of, maybe the power lead for your device, or a phone cable.Overall I am glad I ordered this item, as for now it does what I need, when I’m back on my feet I will make some changes to it, which will then make it much more usable for my situation.
