Vitrex 103402NDE Torque Master Power Tile Cutter Diamond Wet Tile Saw 240v

Harassed and harangued, I wanted it really, into putting in a tile splashback at home I decided I would have a go myself so invested in a tile cutter to aid cutting some plain white Metro Tiles. Vitrex seems to be the go to brand for all tiling accessories, it's the prominent brand at the local DIY giants plus there aren't many options for the non pro have a go bodge jobber like myself, so I picked one of these up. The Good - Its fairly easy to set up, clunk click a couple of parts together, a screw for the guard, install the blade inside the box, all less than ten minutes to get up and running. The measure handles move fairly easily once on place enabling you to line up your tile. It's a waterproofed push button start and stop, the blade quickly whirs its way to full speed and away you go. As said I used this for metro tiles which are quite small and only 6mm thick. I'm not sure how larger tiles would go but for what I needed this little machine was superb. How many hours saved versus a manual cutter I am not sure of but it's a lot, an awful lot. The could be better - One grumble I had when using was that the numbers for lining up the cutting guide were extremely hard to see, there are a black indent on black plastic. One of my photos shows the numbers once I had cut a few tiles, the wet clay has gotten into the idents making it much easier to read. If there was something to say this could be improved it would be improve visibility on the guide numbers Vitrex!! Some look outs if you do pick one up I found handy - Masking tape is your mate, tape the cut line to reduce the risk of lopping off the edges and nibbling the ends of tiles. Wear Googles and have a second pair you can swap out with out having to stop a cut to clean the muck off your Googles. Ear defenders are handy, it's noisy, especially if you are crouched over it with one eye closed because of wet tile clay. Have some towels, some sheets, a wet suit, snorkel.. It makes a mess, a lot of mess even with the guard down. You can do some tricky cuts by removing the guard but I would watch some YouTube instruction videos first! Let the blade do the work, you don't have to force it. Cleaning this unit is a pain, there's no getting away from it, i would say clean it at the end of each day you use it, don't leave it overnight, it's just going to make it harder. Set 30 minutes aside to clean it properly and it will last a lot longer. Dry the blade, it rusts very quickly. Probably invest in another blade depending on how many cuts you are planning to do. Overall this is a really good piece of kit that's extremely good value for money, if I only got one job out of it I'd have been happy but am sure it has a couple more reasonable sized jobs in it too. It's also a surprising amount of fun! Five Stars.

The reviews for this were quite good and that's why I ordered this. When I first unpacked it, I thought Oh, 'hard plastic thing', some of my sons lego sets were of better quality, just couldn't see how something as 'flimsy' as this, could be any good. I'm a novice but found it very easy to put together. The instruction says that it would be quite loud, so I thought, I test it and see if I had to warn my neighbours, but there was no need, though there was 'noise' it wasn't anywhere near as bad as what I thought it would be. Then I did a test trial and cut a tile, WOW, it was so easy to guide it and the blade cut through the tile, like a hot knife through butter, amazing, cut 8 tiles to size in no time, checking now and again, to make sure the water level was ok. You do get quite a bit of 'slosh' in the water compartment and it took a while to clean as it's quite fiddly, so I decided to put some cling film down, which made the cleaning so much easier. This is a great device, easy to use, cuts great and very good value for money, cannot fault it what so ever, well deserves the 5 stars

Definitely built down to a budget and one has to wonder how this got certification as safe to sell in the UK but, for the price, this little unit is a god send. The guide bar is a bit fragile and nigh on impossible to set by the scale but if you can nudge it into position by eye then it stays in place and does its job. It can be a little difficult to see where your cut has got to when cutting segments out of a tile (for fitting around sockets, for example) but take it slowly and it's fine. Cutting tiles with fine, ceramic faces can leave a very slightly jagged edge on the glaze if you go too quickly so, again, take it slowly and the results will be good. I have only used this on relatively small tiles (30x10 subway) and wonder how well it would cope with larger, thicker ones, but for my job, this has been exactly what I needed. I'd not recommend it if you are doing regular tiling jobs but if, like me, you are just doing a kitchen then this is a very worthy investment and it may even last long enough to do your bathroom too! As an example of just how useful this cutter can be, I managed, through some bad planning, to need a bunch of 7mm edge fillets of 10mm thick tiles. I didn't think this would be possible but this cutter managed it with only one broken out of six cut. An excellent showing. In summary, if you need a cutter for a small job then this is a surprisingly excellent choice.

For the price this is a great little machine. I was wondering how it would handle large my format ceramic tiles at 90cm x 30cm, but once I got the hang of it I was fine. I made a supporting base around the tile cutter and placed it on the garage floor. Couple of things I noted: 1) I never bothered with the guide as its too small and flimsy, I just drew the lines on the tiles and followed the cut line by hand. Pretty neat but I always cut from both ends so that I didn't end up with chipped corners 2) the guard housing is no good as I could not follow the line I drew with the water swishing inside the housing so I lifted it up and wore an old anorak to handle the spray from the cutter. 3) needs leaning out regularly with a hose to remove the tile paste in the water reservoir. Overall very good for the price and its has allowed my to complete 3 significant tiling jobs.

If you are doing any tiling at all, do yourself the single biggest favour you can for the job, and buy this. I bought one after many tiling jobs over the years, without much hope given the price. Total. Game. Changer. The savings in time, tile wastage and expletives are incredible. No more burning through half a pack of tiles to make one impossible fit around a rogue socket or similar. Even for one tiling job it should be top of your list, after tiles and adhesive.

Ok. This works. But there are a few things to note: It’s lightweight. So if you want to cut 600mm square porcelain tiles - probably should look elsewhere. The instructions say for indoor use only. This machine sprays water to keep the blade cool. It also has an overflow system that’s rudimentary to say the least. So if you’re fine with water water everywhere - use this indoors - you’ve been warned. I used this to cut 1200mm x 200m ceramic tiles. I found it did a pretty good job. The plastic guide locks tight enough to control the glide of the tile - so cutting them in half lengthways was fine. I then had to cut mitres. This was trickier. The tiles are quite heavy and guiding them along at 45 degrees was tricky. The results can be good but you’d really need two people to make sure. I also had to use a diamond sanding block to smooth the edges after - as for mitres getting a clean edge is tricky on this machine. One other thing. I was cutting ceramic tiles. What they don’t tell you is the water reservoir fills with the sludge that is formed from the ceramic dust mingling in the water. This sets in to a semi-hard clay and you will find you spend a good half hour trying to clean the machine after. Another reason not to use this indoors. So if you’re doing small tile jobs this is fine. The instructions state to use indoors. I’d say only if you’re fine with water and mess everywhere.

Good bit of kit have cut loads of tiles works very good

For the price this is an amazing piece of kit, but it has serious limitations. It is really quick to set up, very light, requires just a little water and is very small. To cut notches out of tiles is really easy and generally cutting a tile to size is quick and easy but..... It, unfortunately, does not replace a bigger tile cutter with the cutting blade on a slide. This makes cutting at very small angles very difficult. It has an annoying habit of breaking the tile at the last moment. Depending which way the tile breaks determines whether the tile can still be used! The guide is TOO flexible and a straight cut occasionally becomes a mess with the guide flexing. It is SO light cutting large heavy tiles can cause the tile cutter to move rather than the tile!! But for the price it is excellent. Just a few changes and it would be really good.

Der Fliesenschneider kam aus England, was natürlich nirgendwo geschrieben stand. Ergo war auch ein Gerätestecker verbaut, den man in Deutschland nicht benutzen kann. Also Stecker abschneiden und durch einen Schuko Stecker ersetzen. Dafür einen Stern Abzug! Den zweiten Minusstern gibt es dafür, das die Trennscheibe schon nach einmaliger Benutzung zu rosten anfängt! Das Gerät ist komplett aus Plastik und macht insgesamt keinen vertrauenserweckenden Eindruck, aber für den Preis okay. Es rostet wenigstens nicht. Auch die Motorgeäusche, die das Teil nach etwa insgesamt einer Stunde Fliesen schneiden von sich gibt, lassen keine lange Lebensdauer erwarten. Die Anschläge sind etwas fummelig einzustellen und auch aus Plastik. Alles in Allem würde ich mir das nächste Mal ein höher wertigeres Gerät kaufen

Il a l'avantage d'être petit donc peu encombrant. A condition de l'utiliser correctement (on accompagne le carreau, on ne le pousse pas de façon excessive), coupe très bien et de façon précise. Je l'ai utilisé pour couper des carreaux en grès, pas de problème. Un bémol cependant : livré avec une prise au format anglais. J'ai du acheter un adaptateur, ce qui augmente le prix.... Faites vos compte....

Bonjour, loin d'un coupe carrelage professionnel, puisqu'il fait un peu gadget Mais il fait son boulot. J'ai coupé des carreaux de 60 par 60 en grès émaillée. Il faut y aller très doucement mais c'est impeccable!
