Everlast Slimmer Belt

Bought this item to help with my Umbilical Hernia. Terrified of operations and hospitals and will do anything to put of the inevitable although Doc holds out hopes that in the long term hernia may fix itself (yeah!). Wrap belt around myself and stuff a golf ball down onto hernia. Brilliant, works a treat.I have recently taken up "power walking", 25 mins in morning, same in evening. Always wear the belt. In just ten days have gone from 15st 3lbs to 14st 10lbs. Now we all know that nobody loses 7 lbs fat in 10 days, but a couple of pound fat and 5lbs water ???????? Maybe. Figure way way better, posture way better.Always soaking wet when I get home. In the washer for just 30 mins at 30 degrees (Celsius) on the line and done. Of the five that I have one is beginning to fray slightly on just one edge, the other four are fine. I note that other reviews mention the Velcro separating from the fabric, I have no experience of this.I highly recommend this product provided you accept that regular exercise and a fruit, veg, fish diet is the the trick, the belt helps but the belt cannot do it on its own, it needs your help !!!!!!!!!!Please note I have no affiliation with or to Everlast, Amazon or any other such organisation.

I'm going to defend the belt here. It does work. Stop listening to everyone telling you it doesn't. I'm going to tell you why today! When you wear this belt whilst doing cardio, yes you do sweat massively and you do loose water weight BUT... A lot of people don't know that The heat generated under the belt whilst sweating, actually helps create more blood flow to that abdomen area, therefore helps with fat burn. When we loose weight through excersise your body burns fat from the easiest places first, that be the arms, chest, face ect. Those areas have more blood flow to it so you loose the fat from there quicker.Your tummy, booty area have less blood flow so visa versa, is harder to burn fat there. Especially on women. I am a mum of a one year old and I have been working out for 10 months. i have been wearing this for 2momths, and Since wearing this belt, it has helped sooo much.My tummy is shrinking. I can see for myself and it's nearly all gone! But you have to do high intensity cardio with this belt and eat right too see results. It helps with fat loss in that area but it is not magic, and will not work if your just sitting around eating cakes. Let's be real here. So Just buy the belt and try for yourself. I'm happy with my results so far and I'm going to buy another real soon. I especially like this belt Aswell as its good quality.Good luck xx

I originally bought this belt to see if it would help with my plans to lose weight. I don't do much in the way of exercise and, perhaps unsurprisingly, I can't say I noticed any difference. So I have come to the conclusion that the 'Slimmer' element of this belt is intended for people who are trying to lose weight through exercise & careful diet. It probably won't have much effect unless you are prepared to 'put in the hours'. It definitely seems to contain the perspiration and presumably makes you sweat more so I can see how this could lead to weight loss under the right circumstances.However, I have had mild lower back pain for quite a long time which I have always put it down to poor posture and getting older. Recently, it got to the point where I thought I would see if any of the support belts around helped. As I already had an Everlast, I decided to give it a go and it definitely helps me, especially when I am doing a lot of bending and lifting (eg in the garden).The belt itself doesn't last forever though. In my case, the velcro doesn't stick properly any more. I would say I had around 6 months of daily use before replacing it and at the current price of £6, I can live with that. It helps if you can actually wrap it directly on the skin but in some cases neoprene can cause an allergic reaction in which case it will have to be put over clothing. I am fortunate to have had no such reactions.Overall, my first one wore out quicker than expected and I am also unconvinced about its effectiveness as a weight loss aid. However, as it only cost £6 it is difficult to complain. Had it been marketed as a back support, I would have given 5 stars but in the meantime I'm sticking with 4 stars.

the Velcro is not that good but you definitely sweet

This was a recommendation from an instructor. It is meant for shedding excess water on your abs, perfect for people like me who want a little more definition to already well formed abs. It will not work miracles. I have worn it to aerobics, boxing, C.V. training and weight training. It supports your back and makes you sweat hard. Do not wear it too far up your tummy. I pulled it up before some interval training. As my ribs could not expand fully, I started to struggle for air and finally gave up and I started to black out. So my advice is to wear it around the hips and tummy. You must remember to hold in your abs whilst using working out. The belt will not do this for you. It is also easy to wash and dries quickly.I guess maybe this could be used for extra back support during manual handelling or to keep your tummy warm.
