How many mic s do you get

You get two. That's what a stereo pair means. A matched stereo pair means that the output signals are of near-identical strenghts, and that their frequency response is is the same. Unless you have 'golden' ears, their output is identical. The output signal is easily strong enough for any use. The quality is very close to the that required by the top recording studios, and is similar to the Shure SM56 or 57.They are robust, and and come in a nice, sturdy case with a mounting bracket and mic holders. The bracket has a socket matching many mic stands. They are shorter and lighter than most microphones. Nothing second-class about this product. You will need two standard XLR leads. Although I have only used them as a backup when other very expensive kit has let me down, they arealmost indiscernable from the very best. A bargain. Especially useful when putting mics on instruments like concertinas, melodeons, accordions or other instruments where the sound comes out from two ends. I image they would be perfect for vocal duets, though I haven't tried that yet.

No. You need to get one seperately. The pack comes with a standard 'clip' that will attatch to a stand but no stand itself. With this kind of mic you would be well advised to get hold of a shock mount to replace the clip but be aware that you need to make sure you get one that fits this kind of mic as there are a couple of varieties around.

How far do i need to be from the subject when recording dialogeue

Accepted Answer

If you are using the omni capsule, between approx 1.5 inches 7 inches is optimal. Beyond that you'll notice less bass in the signal and you'll be more vulnerable to backgound noise. If you are using the cardioid capsule, then the distance from the mic radically changes the tone you'll get, especially in the bass so you need to experiment and find what works best for what you are doing. But the same range is propbably optimal.

Is the clip also in the box? Or do I order one separately?
