Pellets on the left received from Amazon, in comparison to locally bought same brand. This product has obviously been in damp storage for a long time. Tortoise won’t eat. I have reached out for refund

I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I feel I should share my experience so other tortoise owners can make an informed decision. I bought this for my tortoise, who had been healthy and doing well. Not long after introducing this food into his diet, his health declined and he sadly passed away. I can’t say with certainty that this food was the direct cause, but it’s the only major change that had been made at the time, which has left me feeling very concerned. Every tortoise is different, and husbandry, lighting, temperature, and overall diet all play a role in their health, but I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable using this product again. I wish I had done more research and stuck to the diet I was using before. I would strongly recommend that other owners look into species-specific dietary needs and perhaps consult a reptile vet before introducing this as a regular part of their tortoise’s diet.

Even though the best before date is next January, this is clearly an inferior batch ( as the photos show). As you can tell we’re down to the last meal, so really annoying, not to mention disappointing. I’ve bought this product twice a year for 5 years & never had a problem. I see by the reviews I’m not the only one! I got a refund straight away, but I’ll still have a hungry tortoise.

I usually buy this product usually it’s of high quality however this it’s it’s completely different and tiny , dust like.. see pictures

I've since found out after buying these when I first got my tortoise, that this kind of food is like the equivalent to McDonald's. Tortoise junk food. I've since stuck to the recommended diet of safe weeds (no fruit or veg either for Mediterranean tortoise)

I have been feeding this food to my two tortoises for years and they have always loved it, however this batch looks crusty and old and they won't touch it, very disappointed as I bought the big bucket full

A tortoise should be on a diet of fresh weeds and flowers not being fed pellets. I didnt realise this as a new owner but have never used them as I realised in time. Dont cause damage to your tortoises shell etc feed them a proper, healthy diet!!!!

I have been using this food now for over 10 years. Same brand and same flavour. I received this to feed my tortoises and it looked completely awful. My tortoises wouldn’t eat it.

Nothing against the product. If you have a hermann tortoise, mine does not care for the this product.

My tortoise loves this food much better than what I’ve been using. The smell must be very attractive to him. Good value for the amount of food compared to petco or PetSmart. Thankful for the availability since both store were out of stock for what I had been using.
