Thule TH9700 Xpress 2-Bike, Silver/Black

I wasn’t sure how this was going to work but I read the reviews and decided to buy it. It fits easily and securely to a tow bar. And holds two bikes no problem. I can actually hold myself up on the frame and it doesn’t move. I was even able to do some tricep dips. So it gave me the confidence the frame was strong enough to drive with bikes on the back. You just need to find the right angles to put the bikes on. Different bikes will have to be adjusted to suit. I put the bikes facing opposite ways so the handle bars don’t hit off each other. I need to remove the seat on one of the bikes. The tyres are high enough off the ground and the exhaust doesn’t seem to cause any problems on the tyres. It takes seconds to install the rack to the tow bar. And about 5 minutes to fit the bikes to the rack. The rubber clips are safe enough to hold the bike to the frame. I was sceptical at first but very happy with the product after using it. I can recommend this for anyone with two bikes and a tow bar.

Like many others my husband was very dubious that this scissor style bike carrier would be up to the job but having tested it on the car with our bikes, he is now full of praise for the design. The scissor frame has a good weight to it but not too heavy. It clamps over the tow bar and the horizontal tensioner is very firm to push down. I like that there is a pre-drilled hole in the frame here so that you can put a padlock on it. No one will be stealing the frame off the car! However it is also small enough that you could just take it off and pop it in the boot as it takes about 30 seconds to put on the tow bar. The mechanism for the 90 degree arms that you sit your bike on are intuitive as to how you move them. Just make sure that the head of the screws are flat against the frame before you tighten them. There are moveable rubber grips to seat your bike frame on which also have thick rubber straps to secure the bike with. We found that we had to put the straps on the longest hole and pull to stretch them round our frames as they are slightly chunky. Also supplied is a webbing strap with cam buckle to pass around the frame and through the wheel of the bike loaded nearest to the car. I'm going to invest in some more straps as there is nothing to secure the second bike included in the package. I would really recommend this cycle carrier. Sturdy on the towbar, just enough room for two adult hybrid bikes, decent secure strapping. And all at a bargain price!

It is a very reasonably priced piece of equipment. It works very well and fits my mountain bikes without the need for the additional cross bar. It takes some practice to find the best location for the bikes on the rack but once they are on it is very sturdy. Releasing the mechanism to remove the rack is slightly difficult- it springs apart with a lot of vigour so you have to watch you fingers. Great piece of kit.

Like others I ordered chose this product a little sceptically (despite the numerous excellent reviews). However, its brilliant! Once you've mastered the attaching to the towball and how best to clamp the cycles, its a doddle to fix everything. I am able to attach a gents and a ladies cycle with standard frames. It helps to have a handful of bungees to hold everything together, but, beyond that, it really does take no longer than five minutes to set up and take down. It appears to be very robust (as one might expect from Thule) and everything stayed firmly in place on its first 200 mile journey that combined urban road humps and dual carriageway / motorway driving. Excellent price and speedy delivery from Amazon, too.

Honestly brilliant, easy to use and just snaps into place. Very sturdy and can secure with padlock and then put bike lock to secure bike to rack while out and about. Fits road bike easily. Fully recommend.

I’ve used a lot of different bike racks of various types and needed one which could be left in the boot of my car so that my wife can rescue me if I have a breakdown (I have another thule rack with integrated numberplate/lights where the bike wheels sit on a track, but it is heavy and bulky and buried in the garage) this thule rack is the best to date, after looking at cheaper units with poor reviews I saw this one on offer and decided to pay the extra for a recognisable brand, it is worth every penny, after the first fitting and adjustment to fit my car it comes on and off in seconds without the need for any tools (it did require an allen key (not supplied) on first fitting), there is a position for a padlock if needed and the integrated straps mean there is no need for elastic straps to hold the bikes on (I would probably use them anyway if travelling longer distances) I’m not sure the webbing strap will last in the long term, but that can be easily replaced if necessary, a simple design and rock solid on the car it folds to a flat bar with 2 hand screws.

Eccezionale! Montato in pochi istanti e mantiene 2 biciclette senza alcun problema. Ho preso anche l’adattatore per la bici da donna che avendo un telaio senza barra orizzontale non sarebbe compatibile. Veramente comodo

Perfecto para dos bicis. Fácil de montar. Queda muy firme al engancharlo en la bola del remolque. Tapa la matrícula, por los que tendré que poner un porta matriculas.

Gostei muito, fácil de colocar e fácil de tirar. Mantém uma bike rigidamente, balança só um pouco em lombada e buracos.
