I have large conifer stumps how long before they rot away

I've read this question before. Haven't bought the stuff but will do. I also am the proud possessor of a conifer I could do without. Anyway I feel the 'death' and 'rotting' are two different actions. You use this stuff to kill the tree and then wait patiently for nature to deal with what's left. The rotting time then depends on mother nature including the type of wood/tree. Conifers I feel will take sometime to decay. But I'm a patient guy.

Will it kill roots from trees or any roots from weeds

It is not as effective as I thought it was going to be. Needed not to dilute much,so had to give weeds more than one application. I haven't tried it on trees.

Will the weed killer kill the surrounding grass of the stump, or prevent new grass from being sown?

Normally the chemical attacks the stump only - unless you spill it over the grass. In all my years of using it it has never affected the surrounding grass

hi , will this kill Ivy ?

It worked very well on our ivy. I sprayed all the weeds many times every few days last year when I used it for the first time. This season there was nothing to spray except for a few new plants whose seeds had sprouted in the cracks due to wind.
