Top Trumps Ancient Egypt Card Game

Another Top Trumps winner.I bought these when my son was learning about Egypt. They were really useful to be able to enjoy playing them with him and having some fun while he learnt a few extra fascinating facts along the way.I would certainly recommend for primary aged children , particularly if they are learning about the Egyptians at school.

This is a nice top trumps set. I like the way each card has a paragraph of information on about the subject. However, although I guess it's tricky with subjects like this, 3 of the five categories are given pretty arbitrary scores. The 5 categories are: age, height, beauty, ingenuity and mystique - the last three obviously being the arbitrary ones. The other two don't work in some cases either. Things like kings are given what I assume is the age when they died, while artefacts are given the time since they were made - so not really comparing like with like. Similar it doesn't really work to compare the height of people, objects, the pyramids and the Nile river! Despite all that, though, the game works how it should.

Bought for class topic. We're even using them as 'non-fiction texts' for reading activities and the children have been inspired to create their own 'cards' by researching Egyptian topics in books and online.

Very disappointed. The description, I believed, referred to an ancient game played by Egyptians ( I've never heard of 'Top Trumps' & thought it a company name).

This is a great little stocking stuffer or token present for kids in school studying ancient egypt. Beware of the one or two photographs of decomposing mummies though. Not for sensitive minded little people!!

Good set of top trumps and happy with the purchase. 10 out of 10, would Trump again.
