Magnetic Star Reward Chart

We bought this chart for our daughter, who is three and a bit. She loves to get stars and we find that she responds much better to rewards than to punishments; her behaviour has really improved since we started using this chart regularly. The chart board is nice and strong and the "headings" cover a good wide range of tasks - we will be able to use the chart for a long time as it will stay revelant to her needs. We'll just alter the things she has to get stars for as she grows up. The stars themselves are a bit fiddly but we popped them all out of the backing-sheet and keep them in little pots so she can choose the colours. She enjoys sticking them on the chart. (We keep it well out of her reach on the wall so she can't add random ones on, though!) We review the stars she's got at the end of every day, and on Saturday or Sunday morning we do a count-up and she gets a Rainbow Drop sweet for every star she's achieved. The chart has a place to write in agreed star targets, so as she gets older she can bank the stars and save up for bigger rewards, but at the moment she's happy with pretty little sweeties and they're only 10p a packet! She gets a chocolate button bonus if she's had a really good week. The chart is designed to cater for up to four children, and there is also a pen with an eraser included to write on your own targets. We found the pen-nib a bit thick for the size of the space but use another pen to write things on and find the eraser very useful. It's not a cheap product but it's well-made, and because it's reusable it pays for itself in a few weeks. Overall, three satisfied customers!

This is a well made reward chart. I bought it for my 2 and half year old son as his behaviour had started to get worse and he was refusing to listen to anything we asked him to do. We set him an amount of stars to achieve and discuss what reward he will get once he achieves his target. Currently he is working towards a day out :) There are a variety of options given to stick to the chart but also a pen so you can add your own. We put down that he has no dummy during the day to start weaning him off it..and he took to it straightaway and only has it at night now. He has started putting away his toys, eating his food, washing his hands, brushing his teeth etc etc. The chart itself is well made and sturdy and the magnetic pieces stick well to it. It is easy to wipe clean any areas you have used the pen on. I would recommend this reward chart

I think it's a great tool and the kids love it. They love getting a star for doing something on the list. There are lots of chores and activities to chose from aswell, so you can change the list around. It is magnetic so you don't have to keep changing sheets of paper every week and rewrite a list of activities/chores, it is all there for you. There is also space for 4 children, which is good and 4 different colours of stars to chose from for each child. The only thing I would change, is that I would magnetise the actual board which would enable you to stick it on your fridge freezer or on a magnetic panel you could use as a "commander" station along with your family's activities and schedule. I would also include a special container to store all the stars and activities, that would be a little plus!

My daughter is now 2 and we've had this for 6 months or so. It's an absolutely brilliant product. Initially I started looking for stickers but it all just seemed so wasteful and extra headspace constantly buying stickers/making charts so I was over the moon to find this. The pros are: it's bright and colourful, you can have up to 4 people on it, you can use their premade tags or write on your own depending what's happening in your world, you get absolutely loads of stars in quite a few colours, it's a great size, it wipes clean really easily and it all sticks really well so you don't need to worry about any stars (or the chart) falling off. The cons....there aren't any. Product aside, the concept of using a star reward chart has worked for us. Our daughter responds so well and gets really excited about getting a star. I've sent this link to various friends and they all think it's great. I'm a huge fan!

I never leave reviews but this needs to be recognised. This is the best reward chart I have come across and is great value for the quality and standard that it is. Love the magnetic features and that you can tailor chores/expectations to suit your own household. Using it with my 4 year old to help him settle in to routine at home and my 2 year old grasps the idea of the stars for rewards and he will understand more and more as time goes on. I'm not sure if you can get extra chores/activities etc or different magnetic strips to specialise in certain areas, i.e behaviour but if not it's a great idea to start selling them as extras. We are using the chart with our 2 year old to potty train him and it works brilliantly. He is enthusiastic to get a star. We said once he gets 20 stars for any target, he can have a trip. We agreed on Whipsnade Zoo. Working towards rewards is such a good idea. The chart is bright, colourful and I love that the targets have little pictures. The stars are also different colours to use with different children. I think the size is perfect! It's on our kitchen board where our son can see the chart and monitor how many stars he is getting. He puts the stars on himself and we make a big deal when he gets one. It's working really really well.

A great chart, well laid out, colourful and attractive to kids - a very good buy. My 2 year old loves it! She can see clearly what is expected from her in a day. A very helpful tool in establishing and keeping a routine. The packaging gives some instructions how to use it, however I would have appreciated this chart better if it had some more instructions or helpful hints included, e.g. how many stars is appropriate for different ages. My Daughter collected a lot of stars in first few days. She's only two, but learned the rules of the game very quickly.

The chart and concept is great, however, the chart quickly becomes messy and confusing. The stars are a little too big and easy to mix between days / tasks. Otherwise this is a good chart, a little expensive, but being magnetic should mean a year or two of use without issue.
