Tips To Make Your Life Easier
First off, this ended up being an excellent product that was easy to install once I figured out the best way. I originally tried to install this border in my landscaping in August. I was using a shovel to try and shovel out enough material to be able to get these border pieces in. I made it through two border pieces and gave up because it was taking forever to shovel out enough hard dirt to be able to get the pieces in. Fast forward to May of the following year and I had already purchased all the boxes of border so I figured I should try again to make it work. This time around I used a different tool and it made all the difference in the world. I used what I believe is a flooring scraper with a long handle and pushed it down into the dirt where I wanted the border to go and then pushed it front to back to make a trench. I then put the border in and carefully pounded it down with a dead blow mallet. The combination of the ground being soft from all the spring rain and the use of a flooring scraper instead of a shovel made all the difference in the world. I was able to put this border in super fast and it looks fabulous. I believe it is a great buy for the price because when it is installed correctly it really does look like a stone border not plastic. I would highly recommend this landscaping border.

Suited my purpose nicely !
For my purposes it did what I needed so Im giving it 5 stars. The cement patio to my first floor apartment had dark rust water stains from a nearby sprinkler head . I wanted to cover the edge facing out because it was an eyesore and wouldnโt power wash off . The stakes arenโt as deep as they should be , but a 16 OZ rubber mallet did the trick and is needed trust me . The hammer couldnโt deliver the needed force to drive the stakes into the ground and rubber is safer and wonโt break or scuff the plastic . The short stakes need all the help they can get . Itโs suggested to wet the ground first to soften the soil . Also mine are leaning up against the face of the cement which gives them something to lean against . Iโm not sure how effective they are as edging without that support . Itโs the best and most affordable solution I could come up with as a renter in need of a fairly easy cosmetic fix . They are about a 1/2โ higher than my patio edge so I have to watch my step on that little lip .

Decent for the money, could be improved
I purchased this to edge a new garden I created. I wanted a solid edging to retain the soil and mulch from washing away. This edging is attractive and sort of resembles flagstones embedded into the soil, if you squint. It is not that sturdy, and tends to pull out of the ground. So periodically, I visit the garden with a rubber mallet, which solves that problem. I wish it were a bit sturdier and had better retention in the soil, so I didn't have to do that. But, the garden looks beautiful with it.

Flagstone choice is horrible
Got the Flagstone choice, and could not make it work. There are no spikes that go into the ground, only the sawtooth bottom. Even pounded into the ground, the little wall does not stand straight. I suppose if it were at least half way buried, it might stand. But the ground also would need to be leveled because even the minor differences in the ground/grass density prevents connecting the pieces. This is a terrible product. Installing it would require digging a trench, making it exactly level, burying most of the plastic. Even then, there really is nothing to keep the pieces in place. Also only one side is textured which I knew when ordering, but I thought the back would be plain. It isnโt, instead has ribs..very unattractive.

Passable appearence but installation needs extra reinforcement
Doesn't look as convincing as the on-line pictures but is still passable. I used this to contain the marble chips surrounding my back-up generator. Only one side looks like flagstone while the back side looks like, well, plastic. Because of the location and orientation of my generator, I wanted the front and right side to have the 'good' side facing outward and the left and backside to face inward towards the generator. The connectors do not allow this sort of transition. I had to cut off the connectors on the corners where the inward facing pieces connected to the outward facing pieces then drill and connect with sheet metal screws. In fact, all the connectors are rather loose and sloppy and would benefit by the addition of screws for reinforcement and alignment. Depending upon the soil you're dealing with, I recommend you loosen the soil and remove any rocks first. Installation is then pretty easy.

Keeps dirt in the plant beds.
I had bought this product a few years ago and put one box in beds surrounding my patio where when we had heavy rains, the dirt would escape onto the patio floor. The Ace Hardware where I bought it had only this one box and never restocked it. I was glad to find it online and ordered these two more. This will keep the dirt in the beds and save me a lot of shoveling, scraping and sweeping to clean up after heavy rains

Better to have too much than too little. Buying later may have a slightly different color.
I used this to border/close the gap under my vinyl fence in the back yard. Due to a miscalculation on my part, I ended up short by 18'. The new pieces have a slightly darker color than the first pieces I bought (8 years ago). This may be because the original units are sun faded, but the difference is very noticeable. I will most likely re-arrange some of the old units to put the darker ones in a less noticeable area. Bottom line, better to have too much of this stuff than too little. Final note: Works great! durable and long lasting. May have faded in the sun but has not turned into brittle chunks as most plastic products do. This stuff regularly takes a beating from the weed whacker and has shown no wear.

Made it through the harsh Canadian prairie winter
Just what we were looking for to separate a glassy area from an area with landscape rocks. Not realistic looking but we have them mostly underground. They survived the harsh Canadian prairie winters and still look great.
