This Will Make Some Of You Laugh Because.....
This is one of the best gadgets I ever bought so the garden so far. I pride myself in have a nice garden and this Auto Sprinkler will make some of you have a good laugh at times, I have 2 daughters " 20 & 18 " and because I in their eyes have a nice garden, they invite all of their friends round to what is now called Pre-Drinks to our garden and despite me telling them about this sprinkler, they tend to ignore you anyway up until the point were it came on itself. I have never saw 7 girls move as fast in my life, I was in tears laughing but they know it all these days. Anyway the way you can set this up is great for my needs and as you can read from other reviews, its a great job. Before it arrived I always had a drip from the from the tap anyway and I fixed it the best I could but there is still a slight drip but I just put a bucket under the tap now to use a small water but for water for my greenhouse. I cant understand why some reviewers say its bad quality as I think its fine. I have mine set to come on at sunrise / sunset for 10 minutes 5 days a week and it works a treat. It was very easy to set up although the instructions could do with being in larger print as I had trouble reading them even with glasses on but thats just me. I dont have to put up any pictures this time as the rest of the reviews has that covered. I would give this product a sold 10 /10 and its great value for money and I even read somewhere that there`s a WiFi version that works of your mobile in an app form. UPDATE: 20/5/2019 On the week of good weather in May, I decided to bring out the Hozelock Sensor Controller Plus from the shed as I had just reseeded the lawn and had set it up correctly as usual when indeed it didn't automatically work in the morning and at night. So as it was past its 1 year guarantee I had 2 choices, either do it manually or buy a new one but I decided to put new batteries in it just in case it was that and low and behold it worked as normal. Now even though the old batteries was able to turn it on manually they didn't work the sensor part. Im just glad I put new batteries in it before I chucked it. So always put new batteries in it the following year just in case you find it not working people. It might just save you buying another model and spending a lot of cash you didn't have too.

Better than expected
My Hozelock Sensor Controller Plus is now in its second year of use and has performed very well. I was initially skeptical as the battery compartment is not sealed against the elements, but I haven't has any problems. Very simple to use and the daylight sensor makes watering at optimum times a doddle. One set of AA high-power batteries lasted one season, I see others have had problems here so there may be the quality control issues that are common enough with Hozelock products or possibly the use of sub-standard batteries. One thing - it's important that these sort of devices are not left connected or with batteries fitted during freezing conditions as they will break quickly.

A great design
I've used this for a year. It's construction is robust. The reason I bought it and I stand by it is that it has no digital display. It only has three buttons: no menu to fiddle through in the sunlight, no tiny buttons that will get clogged with dirt from my gloved fingers. The dials are self-explanatory. The thing the user needs to get used to is how much water comes out for the programmed setting. Does it drown the plants or leave them parched? A couple of days of experimenting with the results and I happily left it on its own for the whole summer. The manual over-ride can also be used to top up or test the unit for a few seconds during set up. That is the only function that takes a bit of thought. It's a small grey button at the bottom of the unit. Press and hold and it will turn the three LEDs into a battery meter to show how much juice is left in the battery; press strongly and briefly once and it will give you ten minutes of water (while you walk away and forget about it). One or two things that I found confusing about this function is that a) you have to press strongly and b) nothing happens for about two seconds, making me think I didn't press it properly, so I press again, which means I am now getting 20 mins of water. c) the mode cycles through 10, 20, 30, Off in that order, so you have to be observant as to how many times you've pressed it so that you know what it's doing. The instructions say the batteries (2 x AA) will last a season and should be refreshed every season, but mine were hardly depleted after the summer's work.

The Garden Guardian: HOZELOCK - Watering Timer Sensor Control
In the ongoing quest for a perfectly hydrated garden, especially in Cambridge's sometimes unpredictable climate, an automatic watering solution can be a game-changer. The HOZELOCK Watering Timer Sensor Control positions itself as an intelligent assistant, ready to take the manual labour out of irrigation. The packaging was typical for a garden accessory – a sturdy box designed to protect the electronic components. It arrived without incident, well-secured and ready for immediate deployment. This no-fuss delivery is always appreciated when you're keen to get your watering system set up. Upon unboxing, the unit's design is immediately apparent. It's compact and functional, predominantly in Hozelock's signature yellow and grey. The interface features a clear dial and, depending on the specific model (as Hozelock has a few variations), potentially an LCD screen. It connects directly to your outdoor tap, designed to be inconspicuous yet accessible. It doesn't aim for sleek minimalism, but rather for practical robustness, a hallmark of Hozelock products. In hand, the Watering Timer Sensor Control feels solid and well-built. The plastic casing feels durable, designed to withstand the elements of an outdoor environment. The dial and buttons offer a satisfying tactile response, making it easy to select settings. The tap connectors are robust, suggesting a secure, leak-free fit – crucial for any watering system. The battery compartment is easily accessible, a practical consideration for routine maintenance. The real magic of the Hozelock Sensor Control lies in its intelligent operation. This particular model, leveraging a daylight sensor, aims to water your garden at optimal times – sunrise and sunset – without constant manual programming. This feature is particularly useful, as it automatically adjusts to the changing seasons in the UK, ensuring efficient watering and minimising evaporation or leaf scorch. I've used it to keep my raised vegetable beds and hanging baskets consistently watered, especially vital during dry spells. The "water now" manual override is also incredibly useful for those times when a quick, extra burst of water is needed. The various models also offer flexibility, from simple pre-set programs to more advanced customizable options, allowing users to tailor watering durations to specific plant needs. This watering timer is an excellent solution for busy gardeners, those going on holiday, or anyone looking to automate their garden irrigation. It's particularly well-suited for drip irrigation systems, small sprinklers, or even watering can filling, ensuring your plants receive consistent hydration without you having to be physically present. The "sensor control" aspect truly sets it apart, offering a smart, adaptive approach to keeping your garden thriving. It truly steps up as a reliable guardian for your precious plants.

Not as straight forward as seems
It looks like a very simple straightforward device, however (in may be me!) I am very confused! Not only do the dials not come on when you think you’ve set them for, the override button has a mind of its own as to whether it will come on for 10, 30 or 60 minutes! You are supposed to press the desired length of time, but pressing it 1, 2 or 3 times (until the correct light flashes) doesn’t work! The other problem I have is that I wanted to set 2 sprinklers to work at the same time. However, I cannot for the life of me work out how to connect this! After numerous times googling it and being told about male and female connectors, I have bought and tried them all and cannot get this to work. You would think 2 Hozelock devices would fit together easily, but no! I can only use one or the other but not both together! My patience (and money) is so completely drained and I am giving up. I am new to gardening and just wanted to save time on watering a fairly large garden, but technology shouldn’t be this difficult! Wish I’d either bought the one that sells both together (as the splitter looks different on that version), or gone for a different brand altogether! I went with this one as it’s a well known, trusted brand. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s value for money with all the extra bits I’ve had to buy plus the amount of web searches I’ve had to do to find instructions as they are not given with device. So I do not recommend this product.

Over priced and quality not great
Worked ok and easy to fit and easy to set-up. However when it wasn’t in use there was a constant drip and when operating was a stream of water coming out of the housing. Too expensive for putting up with those issues so sent it back.
