This little guidebook is making a decent introduction of the culture, norms, and customs of Kazakhstan. It can help the first time traveller understand the country before arriving there. Good to be read on the place while travelling there.

Very helpful for a recent trip. But a bit dry - not funny like the Xenophobe Guides.

This book provides a good general introduction to Kazakhstan, it's people and culture. It's easy to read and up to date.

Not bad but it misses most of the useful information a travel guide should have like some useful phrases, etc. Good to pass time during flight.

Well documented and informative. Would have liked more photographs, but the text itself is simple and clear, which helps.

This is not a traditional guidebook as such, but it does take you much deeper into really understanding the habits, cultures and "personality" of Kazakh people. If you are a serious traveller wanting to really understand a place, these are wonderfully helpful books.

Informative and quite detailed. I love the take about birth and marriage. These are all useful for getting to know these awesome folks more.

Interesting book that gives an understanding of the Kazakh people and society. Should be read before travelling to the country to gain an appreciation of their customs and norms. If I hadn't had this book, I'd've been totally unprepared for the close quarters on the bus, line-cutting, and lack of apologies when brushing against me in passing. And understanding the hand gestures I saw along the way was nice, too.
