Love this item
This vegetable chopper works exceptionally well and exceeds expectations. It finely chops vegetables like garlic, onions, and even jalapeños with ease. The design allows it to come apart effortlessly, making it very easy to clean. For convenient storage, the top can be pushed down and locked in place. Considering its performance and features, it’s priced very well. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs to quickly and efficiently chop vegetables.

Love this thing
I love this manual chopper, the blade design chops up green peppers and onions into small pieces for cooking, small like we like, not big long pieces like using a knife might do. It's easy to take apart and rinse. I've used it so far by removing the bottom lid and setting the chopper over my veggies on a cutting board and lightly slap the black handle repeatedly to chop to my desired sizes. It's kinda fun to use to as I see the veggies being chopped into smaller manageable pieces. However, if you use this on frozen, stuck veggies they are harder to cut. I did not want to keep slapping because I don't want to break it so give your veggies a few minutes to thaw outside the freezer and chop away. this was well worth the money! Oxo makes really good kitchen products. It is small enough to stick up on a shelf out of the way. I do not have a lot of storage space so that works well for my kitchen set up. Caution: the blades are definitely sharp though so use with caution

The best nut chopper I've purchased in 25 years.
I do meal prep one day per week and was tired of the tedious cutting of vegetables and nuts with a knife. I originally contemplated the Slap Chop but after reading many reviews I chose the OXO Good Grips Vegetable Chopper. It hasn't disappointed. I've chopped shelled walnuts and almonds, celery, apples, carrots and even prunes. Everything chopped well although the prunes became a rather sticky mess which made for a dangerous cleaning with the sticky prune residue stuck to the very sharp blades. The cleaning was made safer by soaking the blades in warm soapy water for a few minutes and just rinsing. The size of the pieces are determined by the number of times you push down the plunger. It's much faster and safer than using a knife which feels ideal for when the kids want to help with meal prep or for the elderly who are starting to lose grip strength for holding a knife. The cleaning is to easy. The whole chopper easily breaks down into 5 parts for cleaning and can be reassembled in about 15 seconds without the need of tools. When it's time to store it you just push down the plunger and twist. It's now 1.5" shorter. OXO did a wonderful job making this kitchen tool.

Nice chopper
Works very well. Not quite as efficient on “moist” items….turns into slush. But chops chicken, peppers, veggies very well. Easy to use and clean. Recommend

Does an adequate job
I am not love with this tool, but in certain use cases it can be handy. Like many kitchen gadgets, it gets put away on a shelf, largely forgotten until that one time a year when it gets to shine. The most important things are how well it chops and what it's capable of chopping. It chopped lightweight herbs, like cilantro, very well. Easy peasy. It chopped shelled pistachios too. But it couldn't chop rosemary because it's too tough. It just bruised the heck out of it. So how well does it chop? Meh. You'd always do a better job with a knife by hand, but you knew that. This will chop some bits more finely than you want and leave larger chunks behind too. I shook it after every few chops to try to redistribute my herb bits, but that was still the end result. It is very easy to disassemble and reassemble, which makes cleaning it pretty easy. Except when you are trying to clean it very thoroughly, because it's hard to squeeze a sponge in the crevices of the zig zag blade without slicing yourself. I usually just give it a rinse if I've only chopped a few herbs. Overall, if I am just chopping a few nuts to put in a salad, or if I want cilantro for my guac, I'll use a knife to get the pieces the exact size I want. But if there is a particularly large job, especially one that involves many herbs (some recipes I cook ask for cilantro AND mint AND something else!) then I'd use this bad boy to speed things along.

VEGAN REVIEW! (Who owns an organic farm) In the words of Ozzy: No more Tears! (Onions)
I have one of those old 1950s metal chrome choppers that uses the cups that look like cone shaped parmesan cheese graters. It works great for some things, but not for anything smaller like onions and garlic and turmeric and ginger. I didn't know for sure if I needed this chopper. Boy did I EVER! So, we grow dozens of leafy greens. How does it do on them? GREAT! Just have to wad them up into a ball. ONIONS: This is the number one reason to buy this chopper. It eliminates the eye burning and chops the onions far smaller than I would with a knife. GARLIC: I absolutely LOVE this chopper for garlic!!! TUMERIC: JUST BUY IT!!! Nothing chops turmeric like this OXO chopper! All other veggies: Yuuuuuuup! It chops all of them! Shallots: YEP! Carrots YUP! You name it, it will chop it. PLEASE NOTE: You need a sturdy work surface to use this. My countertop is a wire shelf with a 1/2 board laying on top, so I hold it in both hands and chop it sideways. Works great like that. (Installing a new commercial kitchen as we speak so soon, I'll have better countertops!) I can't recommend this chopper enough. the plastic material seems sturdy enough, and the cuts are perfectly dices and varied as I prefer. Reviews ask for suction... This has no suction. It's not supposed to. It also asks about the cut accuracy. It's a chopper. The more you chop the finer it gets. it's PERFECT. Just close the reviews and buy it!
