In All Honesty The 990 & 991 Are A Must Have When Doing Music Recordings Vocals & Live Talking Radio Or Sounds The Depth & Quality To The Mic Is Very Clean & Clear Also Crisp I Will Advise To Buy The Shock Mount If You Buy The Recording Pack Which Has The Two 990&991 Inside the Box As The Shock Mount Cuts Down Vibration Massively And Improves Sound Quality To & and Wind Screen.My Self Am Using My 990 & 991 With M-Audio M-Track Plus & This Combination Of Decent Affordable Quality Amp Play A Big Part In The Sound Coming from The Mic Its Self & The Software Which Is Included With The Amp & Mic Make It Studio Level Recording Equipment The Amp Is Run Via USB 5 volts then becomes 48 Volts For Pre Amp Mic's This Feature Also Can Be Turned On Or Off Depending On Your Mic Either Way The Amp Is What You Need To Really Work For You.As Far As The 990 & 991 Go You Cant Beat The Quality Or The Price And Built Quality Of Them They Are Staggeringly Good So If you Think To Your Self Is It Really Worth It YES IN EVERY WAY

Considering you're getting two microphones for ~£90, you cannot complain over sound quality. It's good, the mics sounds fairly flat and are well detailed. Pretty sturdy structure, but I'd recommend also getting the shock mount for the larger microphone rather than using the plastic clip it comes with. Make sure you've got a good stand as well for the LDC, it's quite a heavy microphone.

The pack includes two brilliant microphones and fantastic value for money. I highly recommend it to anybody on a budget.

As my first foray into proper condenser mics, I'm very pleased with these two. Arrived in good time and condition - supplied with their own carry case for life on the road. I use the 990 for vocals (seated in a Samson SP01 shock mount which is attached to an "Essentials Audio Recording Portable Vocal Booth" which, in turn, is screwed on to the top of an old upright mic stand) and the 991 in a boom mic stand for guitar and mandolin. I don't have much in the way of disposable income and, after a bit of research, found these were recommended as a value option for hobbyist home studio recording on a tight budget. I think the volume/signal, tone clarity and depth are rather good considering the price and suits my needs well. Hopefully they'll last a fair few years before I can afford to upgrade.

I originally bought these for recording acoustic guitars & vocals, and was so impressed with the quality that I decided to buy a second set. With both sets, I can use both of the instrument microphones for the guitar (one pointed at the 12th fret position, and one pointed towards the bridge), and both of the vocal microphones placed at different distances, to get a double-tracked delay effect on the vocals. I think they are great, and would recommend them to anybody wishing to produce music.These microphones will need a power source i.e. Phantom power. If you are not familiar with microphones, then it is important that you realise this, otherwise you will be wondering why you aren't getting any sound.

Delivered right on time for my husband's birthday. He is thrilled with the product. 'A handsome piece of kit'. Compact professional little carry case. The mic more than does the job. Highly recommended.

Quality build but lacking sound definition. Ok for instruments but not for vocals
