Sweet spice tangy
This Tennessee Red sauce by Blues Hog is awesome! It has a building heat that’s starts low and can turn to a medium heat depending on the fat content of what you have put the sauce on. Its main flavor profile is sweet-spicy-tangy with hints of black pepper, chiles, tomatoes, and apple. It is an apple cider vinegar based sauce fortified with some tomato sauce. It is slightly thicker than an Eastern North Carolina sauce and thinner than a Kansas City sauce. This Tennessee Red sauce is awesome on chicken wings and pork chops! Crispy skin of air fryer chicken wings hold the sauce very well.My favorite thing about this sauce besides the awesome taste is this Tennessee Red sauce does not have garlic in it. Anyone who is bothered by the nasty after taste of garlic or has a sensitive digestive system will love this sauce because it has NO GARLIC!Thank you Blues Hog!

Love this stuff on anything
Hard to find locally. A lot of rubs and sauces are so expensive online I generally avoid buying, but this was a very fair price for my favorite bbq sauce. I love the vinegar twang and the mild heat. If you or a family member like a sweeter sauce mix this 50/50 with the BH Original for a fantastic sauce. Quality ingredients and a flavor profile you just won't find in the mass produced grocery store sauces.

My Favorite BBW Sauce
Great flavor with a touch of heat. Be forewarned that this is a thin sauce.

5 Stars / Makes Heavenly Pulled Pork
Blues Hog makes quality sauces and I had just finished a gallon of "Champions' Blend" so I bought a jug of the Tennessee Red. It is absolutely tasty! It would make a great dipping sauce for a variety of foods. Is it my favorite sauce for pulled pork, no, but it's very good. I would describe it as sweet and sour and a little sweeter than I was expecting. I should have known considering the sugar level of the other two sauces they sell (super sweet). Don't get me wrong, there's a strong vinegar flavor and the distinctive "Blues Hog" spice (some say it's mace), but also a countering sweetness that lingers. I was hoping it was a little more vinegary and less sweet, but it will be easy to adjust that. The heat level is best described as medium. There is some heat, but it doesn't come close to hot in my opinion. It's a little mild for my taste, but that's perfect. I can create separate hot and mild bottles for my guests. The gallon is worth trying it if you catch it on sale. It won't go bad on you and if you like "Q" you'll go through it.Update: I smoked a pork shoulder and used the Tennessee Red with equal parts cider vinegar (I'm used to vinegar and red pepper flake sauce for pulled pork, but I have to admit, that touch of sweetness of the Tennessee Red made it better. Sorry, not a mustard guy). All I can say is it makes fantastic pulled pork! For drizzling on the sandwich, I like blending Champions' Blend with homemade Gates in a 50/50 ratio (Gates recipe is on the web). Using these Blues Hog sauces as a base makes them much more economical too.

Be aware and read the ingredients first.
Not bad but after reading the ingredients and seeing anchovies in there, it turned me right off.

fantastic BBQ sauce..
I have been using this sauce for nearly 5 years on all my smoked pork butt/shoulder, as well as the 60 or so racks of ribs I smoke annually... everyone loves the sauce... as well as the smoked meat!! You can't go wrong with this sauce.... the only downside of this product is that it has corn syrup in it... If I could find a good sauce like this one without it, I would buy it in a heartbeat, but honestly, I haven't found one yet... good stuff!

Great stuff
It’s a little more spicy than the regular. Great for shredded pork
