NKJV Amplified Parallel Bible: New King James Version

This particular combination of the NASB/Parallel Bible has been of great help to me. As a monastic brother, I practice the discipline of Lectio Divina. This involves a slow meditative reading of scripture until we alight upon a phrase or word through which the Lord seems to speak to us personally, we seek to 'rest' in this until we feel the need to move on, (this is a brief description of how it works).The NASB is felt by many more knowledgeable than I to be an excellent translation, and so it is, but for devotional use, as in Lectio Divina or Imaginative Contemplation, for example, it is a God-send to have the parallel version right there opening out the text, painting word pictures. The Bible is simply the best aid to prayer that we have, this combination improves even upon that! I hope you find this helpful.

Very grateful for this, would just prefer it in softer cover, the hard back makes it very bulky so I only read this at home as my 'Study bible', it's not one for travelling! Nonetheless it's great having NKJV and Amplified side to side if that's your thing...

good bible and easy to read and understand. letters are big enough to read easily however be prepared to carry it. its very heavy. i wish it had semi leather or leather cover

Love this bible. Very big, so hard to carry whilst travelling

The bible is fit for purpose, however, the quality could be much better. I would have preferred to pay slightly more to have the bible printed on quality paper. When you highlight a scripture it goes through the paper onto the other side. I use the bible often and It is useful being able to view the NKJV alongside the amplified.
