Similar or complementary items Review: Compatible with Oculus sensors - I bought this to extend the cable on an Oculus Rift sensor with the vague sense of dread that comes with knowing it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to whether extension cables are compatible with them. I'd done some research beforehand and signs seemed to be positive so I gave it a go and to my relief it works just fine. It's a thick but still reasonably flexible cable with certainly room for a decent level of shielding inside but I'm not going to hack it in half to check so I'm just going to have to go on performance which has been pretty flawless for what I've needed it to do with no drop-outs of connection and no weird tracking quirks which, to be honest, is enough to convince me this is more than good enough quality for any other kind of use I'd need a USB extension cable for as I generally found the Oculus delighted in dropping connection with the sensor with even the mildest excuse. It also manages to be genuinely hideous to behold with a styling choice that resembles something from an early 90s mini hi-fi system so that's a plus. Review: Works a Treat Tethering With My Canon 5D IV - I primarily bought this cable extender to tether my DSLR camera to my laptop, for taking “remote” photos of birds in my garden (god I sound old lol). I can confirm this works perfectly, and I was up and running within about 2 minutes from opening the pouch to plugging in the DSLR micro B usb cable from my MacBook to the extender cable. The cable feels robust and pretty thick, the only thing that I am reserving judgement on at the moment is the actual plastic USB extender part - it feels flimsy and that I’d have to be careful with it. Still 5 stars at the moment as it all works fine. I’ll update if it breaks.

Does not work with my PS5 Camera
The lead itself is a well made lead feels like it was built to last BUT! the main reason why I bought this is because I read it works with PS5 CAM but no luck please let me know if there's something o need to do to get this to work.

Works well with Oculus Sensor!
Bought to extend the range of my Oculus Rift Sensor and works a treat! Cable is of good quality and is quite flexible. Using with the Rift Sensor, the Oculus Home software reports the Sensor as plugged into a USB 3 port and tracking is rock solid. Cable came coiled up in a thick plastic re-sealable bag. When the cable is uncoiled, it lies quite straight without wanting to re-coil itself, so laying around the outside of room was pain free. If you want to place Oculus Sensors farther from your PC (5m to be exact), this is the cable to get!

Works great with unpowered portable HDD
I just received this and needed to connect a 3TB portable (unpowered) HDD at a distance from my PC. From previous reviews I could not really tell whether it would work or not, but it seems to work perfectly so far. I haven't tested speeds but the backup I just did seemed quick enough. This cable is plugged straight into a desktop PC, then the drive itself is plugged into a further 1M usb 3.0 cable.

If it can work for an Oculus Rift sensor, it can work for whatever else you need it for.
This is the first 3.0 extender cable that i've tried that actually works for an Oculus Rift sensor, as such, this is probably, for the price, the best 3.0 extender cable that I can reccomend. It's cheaper than others, as long as you'll need it to be, and, most importantly, it works.

Great for tethered shooting
I bought this cable to replace my dated USB 2.0 cable I was using with my Canon 7D MkIi. I switched to a Fujifilm X-T4 and transfer from camera to Laptop wasn't as speedy as it was with the 7D2, so I bought this cable in hopes to improve transfer speed. I wasn't disappointed, this helps achieve nearly instantaneous transfer from camera into Capture One on my laptop!

Bought for Oculus Rift Sensor, works fine
I bought two of these to extend the two Oculus sensors away from my pc to a slightly larger play area. They plugged in to 2 of my usb 3 ports (on an inatek usb expansion card) and worked immediately on my system. Of course I can't guarantee they will work on another system, but these are a good place to start if you're looking for Rift extenders.

Successfully extends the cable length for my Valve Index
I purchased this along with 3 other DisplayPort and USB extenders (and a DisplayPort coupler) to try to extend the display for my Valve Index. My tests were NOT exhaustive, but all 4 of the options worked. In addition to reviewing this product, I'm also detailing the other options I tested, including price. For anyone else looking to extend their VR system, I hope this helps. In all cases there was no discernable loss of visual or audio fidelity or dropping of frames. Cable length doesn't introduce lag/latency, so no worries there. But ONLY the active DP connector successfully transmitted the signal to the headset successfully / without snow. THIS PRODUCT: USB (5m) ($15.99) - CableCreation Active USB Extension Cable (Long 16.4 FT). Works great, as expected. OTHER PRODUCTS: DisplayPort (10m) ($98.99) - ATZEBE Fiber Displayport Cable 30ft, Fiber Optic Displayport 1.4. This cable diameter is remarkably small, but it performed equally to the 5m LINKUP cable with a wider gauge. The connectors / cable heads produced heat as soon as the cable began transmitting data. This may be by design for thermal management; but if it's not by design this could be problematic. Other than that the cable seems to work perfectly. DisplayPort (5m) ($39.96) - [LINKUP] DisplayPort DP8K DP1.4 Cable (VESA Certified). This cable is kinda thick and very well built. It did the job. USB (10m) ($35.99) - Cable Matters Active USB Extension Cable Male to Female. This worked to extend the VR range even without being plugged in. Note that a power adaptor is NOT included, which legit sucks. But thankfully the Index worked fine without the power boost. DP connector (0m) ($19.99) - Cable Matters DisplayPort Repeater (DisplayPort Signal Booster, DisplayPort Amplifier). This successfully extended the signal an extra 10m for my Valve Index headset. DP connector (0m) ($11.99) - Cable Matters 2-Pack DisplayPort to DisplayPort Coupler. This DID NOT WORK to extend the length of my Index cable. Bonne rallonge assez longue

Got an Oculus Quest ? Then you Need This !
Cablecreation Extender arrived in the mail today. I plugged the Quest cable that comes with the Quest into it via a UGreen USBA to C adapter and then plugged the Cablecreation Extension cable into a USB port on my PC. Held my breath, turned the Quest on and immediately started playing a Steam game via Oculus Link. It works perfectly and now I have 8 metres of cable distance. The CableCreation cable is quite thick and solid - I can't believe they are selling this for $ 12 on sale - worth so much more but don't tell them !!! If you want to use Oculus Link and need some cable distance to avoid being tethered too close to your PC and keep hitting your computer desk with the controlllers like I was then do yourself a favour and snap up one of these extenders and turn your Quest into a Rift without the hassle of installing base stations on your wall. Now you've got the best of both worlds. And who would buy a Rift S now ?
