Aircraft Accident Analysis: Final Reports

Superbly written book ~ In depth analysis of aircraft accidents
As a person who's very interested in the forensics of aircraft accidents; this book is among the best that I've ever read on the subject. What makes it especially readable is the ability of the authors to convey in layman's terms the subtle intricacies of each disaster. Whether you're an experienced pilot, or just someone interested in detective like investigations; you'll thoroughly appreciate the effort that the authors put into this work. In addition to the text; the graphics add to the impact of the book by providing additional clues as to what caused each accident. Of most importance are the lessons learned from the ill fated flights. I enjoyed this book so much that I'd love to see the authors come out with a sequel, featuring accidents that took place since this book was published in 2000. This is definitely a 5+ star publication.

through and well written
Eye catching characterisations begin each account of mistakes and/or equipment failures that subperbly explain the why and how of each mishap. The author's own in depth training in safety and accident investigation make him an authority as he describes the sequence of events that lead to ultimate carnage. He skillfully writes and expains, in very readable text, the anatomy of each accident so that it can be understood by anyone without pilot experience. The only small downside is the labourous findings of NTSB which are not summarized but included word for word.

Arrived in time!
Item arrived in a timely manner. Item arrived in the condition that was stated. Overall generally pleased with the transaction and because it arrived so quickly I was able to use the item to catch up with the rest of the class who started the course a week ahead of me. Thanks!

TRAPPED IN THE MIDDLE
It is very hard to get an interesting book about aircraft accidents without, at the same time, getting "yellow" in the analysis.Clearly, the author tried to be serious but the final result is precisely what the title says: A lot of final reports...without further analysis. It should have been interesting having a more general analysis (similar to books by Perrow or Reason) instead of being satisfied with the analysis included in every report.

Did Not arrive yet.
Sadly I can not give a helpful review on this because it is now 9 days past the last day of the estimated arrival date and the book is still not here. When a package has a 16 day arrival window I anticipate it getting to the destination in that time period. I was wrong. I am sure I would like the book since it is for a class, but I am now considering withdrawing from that class due to not having the required materials.
