I purchased the 4 liter size pack to restore the deck of a 19 foot ProCraft bass boat. Converting from carpet to non skid deck material. I considered several options on this project. The sand sprinkled in between coats of gel coat method. The paint with added non slip particles pre mixed. This product seemed to have all of the features I was looking for. I read the reviews carefully , watched several videos on the product. I then purchased the 4 liter package of white Kiwi Grip. It comes as four bags with screw on lids in one liter size. This is ingenious in itself for a paint product. Minimizing waste and making it very easy to work with. The bags have a gusset and stand upright themselves. I must mention, this stuff is amazing to work with. Use a simple sponge brush to apply and spread an even coat. Use the roller to bring out the texture. Don't rush, this stuff is very forgiving. Made a mistake? Hit it with the roller again. The end result is the most beautiful DIY non skid deck paint I could ask for. The material itself seems very durable. I have just completed my fresh coats, and they look stunning to me. I recommend two coats for excellent coverage. Some good advice is to work in smaller sections and to not try and roll this stuff out too thin. Apply an even, decently thick layer with your foam brush in the entire section that you want to work. Come back with the roller to bring out the texture, then move on to the next small section and blend together with the roller. There is plenty of time to work with this product given the heat and humidity factors aren't against you. I used this in Florida in the springtime. I am very pleased with how it handled. On the fiberglass deck area, we sanded then pressure washed the surface. The deck lids are constructed of aluminum. I used a paint removal wheel on a grinder to remove old glue and paint to bare metal. Then coated with an acrylic based corrosion resistant primer to seal and promote a healthy bond. I will post a more in depth review regarding how the product wears. I still have a good bit of a one liter pouch left for touch up. hopefully this stuff lasts and cleans up well through some good years of use.

We completely revamped our cargo work trailer for better storage. I wanted a non-skid paint for the floor and especially the ramp. I had researched other products and found this to be the best choice. The competitors paint required constant mixing during application to keep the non-skid additive from settling. Was not into that. Kiwi did not require that. It went down easy and the special pad used to create the texture worked great. The trailer is 16' long x 8' wide. The ramp is 5x7. We used nearly an entire gallon. We had about 80 SF to cover. The flooring and the ramp was new material so we applied 2 coats of Bulls Eye 123 primer. Kiwi is water based so clean up was easy. I hate to walk on it 'cause it looks so damn good!! But, it is our job site trailer and it will get dirty. Can't report on longevity as we just applied. I would however would definitely recommend this product. I'm a contractor for nearly 35 years and I know quality when I see it.

It doesn't come in a can any longer - new packaging (plastic bag with a screw top!) makes it easier to use for small or large repairs. Two years ago we used Kiwi Grip to finish some larger areas of deck on my 63 year old 50' ketch. The product is as easy and fast to use as the video shows on the Kiwi Grip website. It is important to note that it also extremely durable. We used it again this year for a half dozen smaller deck sections that required less preparation (epoxy/fiberglass/filler) than two years ago, and it was very easy to match the older deck sections perfectly. It can be painted over if one of the several colors available does not match the current deck color. It is also extremely easy to control the level of non skid desired. Try it; you'll love it!

I ripped up all the nasty stinky carpet and prepped the floor and painted down the kiwi grip. It went on easy with the roller and dried in about 8 hours. it is tacky and has good grip when out in the sun on the water. On the colder, cloudy days, it can be a tad less trippy when completely wet. Overall I am happy to just be able to hose down the floor from all the spilled drinks and beer

Water wash cleanup, no odors. Easy to apply and get as much or as little texture as you need. Use a fine foam roller to spread it out, and then their included texture roller to get as much texture as you want. Done two areas now, and found something out. You probably want to spread the material out with a v-notched trowel for really uniform results. If you apply a thin layer, and then roll the texture roller over it, you will get a fairly smooth result, i.e. good for bare flesh. If you want a more aggressive finish, you do everything the same way, same texture roller, but you need to start with a much THICKER amount of material. This allows it to get picked up further into the texture roller, and results in the rougher texture. Don't skimp on the v-notch trowel, they're cheap enough and they make for very consistent results in this work.

Used this on my 21' center console. Take your time with the taping! You will be glad you did. Make sure you sand or scour any surfaces before applying and wipe with Acetone just before you apply. I went with the "white" and had it tinted at the local paint store. Very easy to do and did not disrupt the consistency of the product. The guy in the paint dept had some concerns about how to classify the paint to give it the appropriate tint amount and determined that running it as an exterior deck paint ( similar to a NuDeck product ) would work the best. It did. Be generous with the amount you put on before rolling. The roller is only used to generate the desired texture, not for application. Go too thin and you will see small spots with no product when dried. Make sure when you are done rolling and have reached the desired texture that there are no small air bubbles. They will pop and look funny. I say all this just to be mindful, it is a very forgiving product and doable for a DYIer.

We are on our second 4l can of this stuff and I hope it’s the last one we’ll need. We got lucky and got a wharehouse deal on the second can. We do love this stuff but wish it wasn’t as expensive but anyone who know anything about marine paint knows that this is probably a really reasonable price. It’s easy to apply, I like scooping it out with a brush, plopping it down and then working with it. If you follow the directions you won’t have a problem with it. if you mess up, or splatter anywhere you can wipe it up immediately with no issues. One thing I did notice about the the white color is more of a cream white. You are able to color the white if you’d like however we did notice the grey kiwigrip gets hotter than the white so that’s something to consider if you’re thinking about going with a dark color on your deck. We have little toes on our boat so we switched from the grey to the white just to avoid any discomfort for the kids.

There's nothing not to like about Kiwi Grip. It goes on in a day and last a few years, and it's water soluble so it doesn't create noxious fumes.

It's really easy to apply. Looks amazing. I'm very impressed :) It's worth every penny and dryers really nice. I love it and thank you for such a great product.

3 years later still good! stays clean, looks great, very gripy, better than some other surfaces I have seen on other sailboats.

Really liked the product. Very easy to use especially with the roller that’s included. Seems very good quality. We used it on the deck of our sailboat. Only complaint is that we ordered 4 litres and one litre was a different shade of gray than the other three and we didn’t notice until we had already put it on the boat.
