This item arrived well ahead of delivery dates and I found assembly easy.The only criticism of the graphical instructions is that small items like washers are easily missed on the plan.However each picture tells you what components are required for that particular stage of construction, so it is fairly easy to work it out.It does need two people, but we are not talking about heavy work, it is just a case of getting someone else to steady one component while another screws/bolts it together.The glass is not 'smoked' but coated black on one side. This has been mentioned in other reviews but you need to be careful not to scratch the underside of any glass panels or the effect is marred. Also the alloy feet on the base shelf are glued to the coated surface and if they detach, they will leave a round shiny window in the surface.Because of the weight of the glass and metal frame, you need to construct this near to its permanent location or you will be lifting it over a great distance and the unit is awkward to lift once put together.Because of its weight and awkwardness you need to have it in exactly the right place before you start adding your equipment - particularly if you have a lot (as I have). Once the shelves are loaded, you have no chance of moving the unit. On reflection I would have been better off looking for a unit that had wheels or castors.The footprint of the base shelf is quite large and made more obtrusive by the trapezoid shape.If you have a limited area in your room this can intrude into your `walk-space'.Good points: Solid construction, nice design, flexible swivel and height for TV.Not so good Points: Coated glass only - not tinted all through, no wheels, large footprint.

first of all the product arrived very quickly so kudos to Mountright for that. When it arrived it was very heavy! took the delivery guy me and a friend to gently put it somewhere...was a good thing in my books shows its built well and the glass is majority of weight. The glass looks tempered and painted black underneath to give the glass a black look. However if the paint was to be scratched off you would see it. Unfortunately this was the case for me however I took a message sent one message to Mountright and they issued either a partial refund or replacement of the glass shelf cannot fault the customer service at all was fantastic gave me confidence in the seller. They sent the replacement shelves out next day too! Now back to the stand, it is very sturdy and looks fantastic cannot fault it, with regards to having the corrects bolts to attach the mounts on the back of the TV you may have to get your own or pack it out with spacers, 7 on each bolt in my case and I luckily had the bolts in the garage. Cant really blame Mountright cant supply every type of bolt for every TV. bit of a hassle I admit however once i got my Samsung ue55es8000/uxxu up on it it was the sexiest looking thing! Spend time doing cable management on the back and it golden. One crunch was I would have like to see more cable management options on the back rather than the 2 cable strap like holders they help a lot just a few more in different places would have been nice and possibly even using big rubber grommets for the holes so you cant see the wires coming down the back. However it sounds worse than it really is. looks great cant see 97% of the wires if you spend your time doing it right!overall great product and worth the money!

The end product has a professional appearance glass shelves etc makes this a useful self supporting stand. Packing good and delivered on time. Stability on larger type tvs good but seen better on products four times as costly regardless it is worth the purchase as you could not get the same for the price. I would buy again if price is a factor. A careful look at the instruction leaflet will be needed for assembly and able time. The product has no source of origin on the leaflet or packings which for some might be an issue let alone a requirement?

1st of all. This item is heavy!! I thought I would help the lady courier driver by carrying it in myself...Well packaged, slight scratch on one of the shelves but was at the back and hardly noticeable....Assembling this item together took a bit of time but was easy to do, take your time and you cant go wrong. All the tools you need come with the item, but using your own screwdriver may be easier when putting the metal bracket on the frame (which holds the glass shelves) as the allen key with screwdriver on the end is a bit awkward.At times you may need a bit of help holding things in place, so having someone else to help is best.Overall a great bit of kit! Strong, sturdy & looks good!

Adjustable shelves is a marvellous plus. Sturdy stand, assembly takes a bit of thinking about. Parts list doesn't say that parts are already assembled, even if temporary. Would have liked some access holes for plugs etc in stages up the front slot for ease of cable runs. It would be good to run cables into upright stand before fitting the top cover plate. Protection sleeving for sharp edges would be appreciated. If these were made available, I cannot see any other stand coming close to perfection!!!!

The stand is fairly straight forward to assemble, although some of the diagrams were a bit on the small side. I built it by myself but it would have been easier and faster with two people. It holds a 55" screen with no problem. The adjustable shelevs are good as I was able to place a tower pc on the base. All in all, it does what I needed it to do.

I purchased one of these to mount my 47" Panasonic Viera LCD TV and it does the job wonderfully. As the other reviewer points out, it will raise your TV quite high up but this is exactly what I wanted. The three shelves are perfect for my home cinema receiver, PS3 and centre speaker and the holes in the central column will let 13 amp UK plugs through no problem so you can get a really neat install with all the cables tucked out of sight.Get a friend to help and the whole thing can be assembled in 30 minutes tops including time to argue as to whether everything is straight and centred.
