I like this barcode scanner. A problem with the USB C connector was solved
I like the Eyoyo ey-028 barcode scanner. I am not a heavy user of barcode scanners & this is essentially the 1st one I've had. Actually, this is my 2nd, but during the short period that I tried to use my 1st barcode scanner I got so frustrated by not being able to know if I had successfully scanned and stored a barcode or not, that I quickly decided to get a model that would show the barcode when it was scanned. I was very happy to get this ey-028 model. It is easy to use & I no longer had a problem trying to scan & upload barcodes to my computer. So that is my review, I like this barcode scanner and it is easy to use. This is really the end of my review of the scanner. Below I mention some things about the problem I had with the USB C connector & what I learned about USB C connectors (sigh).Let me 1st mention that I did not have very much experience with USB C connectors before I got this scanner. I thought that it should be inserted into the scanner similarly to the way the old USB A connectors were inserted into their slots, meaning that you pretty much inserted the connector all the way into the scanner. Apparently I pushed the USB C connector too far into the USB C connector slot when I 1st got the scanner & tried to use it w/o reading the manual. The USB mode of uploading is not the default mode of this scanner. So when I 1st got the scanner I think that the USB stuff was dormant or inactive so I did not get any indication that the USB C was connected & I kept gently pushing the C connector farther & farther into the slot, just using finger pressure, until I had inserted the C connector about all the way into the slot. I did not know that it is normal for the C connector to only need to be inserted about 50% of the way into the slot because I thought it could be inserted 100% of the way into the slot like the old USB A connectors are inserted into their slots. But, even so, the scanner worked great for 2 days, but on the 3rd day, suddenly it would not hold the USB connection. It would just connect and then immediately disconnect. I wanted to contact the seller but could not figure out how to do that until I got on Amazon chat and they provided me a link where I could report the problem. The seller responded and after a few emails back & forth they sent me a replacement unit and an address to send to damaged scanner. The replacement scanner seems to be working fine. I like it. It is easy to use and works well. Needless to say I learned a lot about the do's and dont's of the USB C connectors, the hard way (like usual for me). And I will add that those C connectors are a little tricky to insert properly. After some careful inspections I learned that I need to gently insert the C connector about halfway into the slot until I feel a little resistance, but it is still not yet connected. Then I need to insert it in a little bit more, like a millimeter more where it kind of 'clicks in' in a very mushy way. But now it is connected. It could still be pushed into the slot further w/o too much finger pressure but don't do it, just let it be. I think the connector would be improved if it had a definite stop point beyond which it could not be reasonably pushed in with normal finger pressure. But as I have sadly discovered, it is possible to push the C connector in too far just using finger pressure and cause damage. I am guessing, based on my limited experience with C connectors, that this is a USB C connector design problem and not a problem with the ey-028 unit which seems to work very well.

Useful little tool for inventory management
I bought this barcode reader to scan custom inventory tags that are printed with a QR code. I attached it to a retractable badge holder and wear it on a lanyard around my neck so I have both hands free and don't need to worry about dropping it. It's small and not obtrusive and I can set it to transmit to my phone or to a nearby computer and keep a copy of the data in the device.I love that you can verify the code that was scanned on the screen. Just wish the font size was customizabile. The ability to block out reading specific types of barcodes is also very useful since the tags are sometimes close to the UPC.I haven't had it long enough to say anything about the long term reliability but so far I'm very pleased.

Loved it until I didn't
I've owned mine for 6-8 months. I really take care of it. Keep it in it's own case, keep dongle in a small bag, took no chances.About a month ago, it started having issues, switching from Bluetooth to the wireless dongle. Now, it won't charge or come on at all. Really disappointed.

Tiny Scanner Saves Time and Space!
I have used this via Bluetooth to input scan results, both 'live' and in storage mode, scanning a lot of codes and dumping them later. The manual is better than most. I expected to be able to use the USB connection to emulate a keyboard, but I could not make that work. It is flawless on Bluetooth, which is fine for me anyway. I like also that it can scan multiple barcodes at once. I use this mostly to scan MAC addresses from VoIP telephones. One model I have has both a 1D barcode of the MAC address and a 2D QR code of the model number. The scanner captures both and outputs them separated with a comma by default.

Used for scanning barcodes for ebay
Works exactly as intended for my use case. It scans the barcode and types out the number wherever you are typing on the device it is connected to

Incredibly Dissapointing - Avoid At All Costs or Perceived Savings
My experience with the Eyoyo QR Code Scanner with LCD Display has been nothing short of disappointing. Here's a breakdown of my grievances:Fragile Build: This scanner's build quality is incredibly poor. I dropped it once, and it fell apart. The wrist strap ripped, and the device itself suffered damage. It's far from durable, which is a significant drawback for a portable device.Ineffective Scanning: The primary purpose of a barcode scanner is to scan, and this device fails at it miserably. It consistently struggles to read barcodes, resulting in frustration and wasted time. Its performance is far below the standards I expected.Abysmal Battery Life: The 30-minute battery life is absurdly short. It barely allows for any practical use before needing a recharge. This limitation severely hampers the device's functionality and convenience.Overall Disappointment: In summary, the Eyoyo QR Code Scanner has proven to be a regrettable purchase. Its fragile build, inability to scan effectively, and woefully short battery life make it an impractical and frustrating tool to use. I would strongly advise against wasting your time and money on this product. Look elsewhere for a more reliable and robust barcode scanner.
