Convenient and versatile soup maker
Iโm really pleased with the Tefal PerfectMix Cook Soup Maker and Blender. Itโs very easy to use and makes homemade soup much more convenient. You can simply add the ingredients, choose a programme and let it do the work. The soup comes out smooth and well blended, and the built-in cooking function means thereโs no need to stand over the hob. Itโs also useful for more than just soup, as the blending function works well for smoothies and other recipes. Cleaning is fairly straightforward too. Overall, itโs a handy and versatile kitchen appliance that saves time and makes preparing homemade meals much easier.

Quality blender
This blender is well-constructed and not too loud. It offers multiple modes and impressive power. Itโs easy to use and clean. However, the glass jug is heavy, especially when full. Overall, itโs good value for money.

Good for hot cocoa. Heavy & bulky. Not suited to the weak or infirm.
Rolls-Royce of UK blenders -- with heater in jug base -- but deducted one star for its plastic lid. Can try baking paper wedged under the lid if you don't want contents to make contact with plastic. Base is all stainless steel -- hard to find. Some of the programmes are very violent, causing leakage up through inner, filling hole. Tefal needs to calm these down and warn which ones are strong. Power button needs several depressions until timer (heater) kicks in.

Glass jug
Love this blender! The jug is made of glass and it feels sturdier and more hygienic than plastic!

Ok, but not as good as I had hoped
I bought the Tefal Blender & Soup Maker Perfectmix Cook in October 2024 and was initially super pleased with it. There are a few things that could definitely be improved. I started out with steaming vegetables, smooth soups and a sauce, which all produced good results and I was able to use the self clean mode and also remove the blades to clean the jug/blades without any issues. Then I went on to do chunky soups (I've made 3) and I found that when the soup was done, there was burnt food in the bottom of the jug which can be really challenging to clean of. And while the first time using the self clean mode went OK, the last couple of times, quite a bit of soapy water came out of the top of the lid - 1st time, I was not aware that that would/could happen, as I had used less water and soap than the manual said and the water ran down the sides and ended up inside the base unit and on all the table. Last time, I had stayed close by and was able to turn the cleaning mode off, when water started coming out of the top. Update November 2025: Due to food getting burnt on one side, I don't use it as much as I had hoped I would. Honestly I don't think it was worth the prize.

A fast smooth soup maker which is easy to clean.
What a great asset in the kitchen, all sorts of different menus are appearing now. Very easy to use and takes up very little space. Great value for money. Solidly built and very quick blending and boiling. Easy to clean.

Tefal Blender & Soup Maker Perfectmix Cook, 2L: Convenient but with Room for Improvement
Overall, the Tefal Perfectmix Cook is a good blender. I wouldn't use the plastic basket to steam vegetables, maybe that's just me being overly microplastic cautious, but The blender mixes ingredients very finely, and Iโve enjoyed trying new recipes with it. I tried a few various soups and made some overnight oats. However, there are a few drawbacks. Regardless of what you cook, if you boil anything, it tends to leave black burnt-on food thatโs very tough to scrub off. This is quite a nuisance, especially when selecting the smooth soup option, as it starts by heating for about 25 minutes before even blending. This means I have to cut up all the vegetables beforehand or run a blend first., I really wanted to make a more chunky soup, but by running a blend it liquidates everything in a second, so in this case you have to do all the chopping by hand and then select chunky soup. For the price, I expected to be able to throw in whole ingredients, select either chunky or smooth soup, and have it fully automated. Unfortunately, this isnโt the case. Additionally, I found the self-cleaning option to be underwhelming. Despite running the cleaning program, I still have to wash it by hand, which makes the self-cleaning feature somewhat pointless. If youโre in a hard water area, the cleaning program can actually leave more of a mess inside the blender. The blender also creates a lot of steam, so itโs best to plug it in under the extraction fan to use it. The max fill line for hot recipes yields 1 litre of soup or whatever youโre making. Honestly, blending the soup and then cooking it on the hob in a saucepan might be easier and create less of a mess, as the residue left on the base is similar to a saucepan that wasnโt stirredโitโs like trying to make chunky soup in a kettle. The blade mechanism pops out, making it much easier to clean, although bits of seeds and stuff can become trapped under the rubber ring, and it's extremely difficult removing these as they sit between the rubber ring and the glass after attacking it with the included scrubbing brush these pieces in my photo still remain. With the cleaning challenges, I kind of regret not looking around for a different blender.

Easy to use...
This is a heavy item,no flimsy little machine...it's very straightforward to use, quiet whilst cooking, be prepared it's a little noisy when blending but it's so efficient it's done in no time (4 or so consecutive blends after the end of cooking time last about 8/10 seconds each time) love the cleaning function, simple to use.Be careful though the jug/glass gets very hot....made a gorgeous soup with fresh veggies from my allotment ๐ Will be using my Christmas present soup maker quite a bit I think and for the other things it can be used for....very happy with this all singing and dancing machine ๐๐

Good
I'd give it 5 stars if it had an option to turn the beeps off when the buttons are pressed, a soundless mode. and if the instructions weren't awful. Its not in the garbage because eventually figured out how to get the bottom open against all odds, the instructions where worthless, it took hours and many people couldn't do it. It was a pure divine miracle working that out. Its pretty heavy duty and not the easiest thing to work out. Even just then i took another look again and was like oh i didn't know that oh how it works, i still didn't even know how. With instruction it be very easy, without instruction however its can be a garbage job. Take the lid off put it upside down on the counter top, then press the yellow bit, being sure to only be touching that yellow bit, its a very slime area, need short finger nails if going to it from the other direction because when it flings up his the the top nail and hurts. So press down only on that little yellow bit, cant be over any of the black bits at all, then that will half unlock it, after that need to press it down again, and then the entire bottom metal ring with fling up like spring loaded. Then when are closing it, need to press that black latch bit back in towards the jar. With some instruction, practice and memory its fine. Looks like it'll last along time. Symbols light up, but i'm not good at symbols, its a pitty the lables writing light don't with it, makes it hard to read. I got it on top of the fridge at head height so i can actually read the stuff on it. But would be nice if did that little bit more so don't have to. I can see max but which could be bigger, bottom one probably means minimum but is instead called steam. But the molded measurements in the glass are clear, if they were also black, that be good because they are really hard to see. Buttons don't look like they will unstick, blister or peel off like all the others i'v had, that all soon did.

Not the best
Iโve been using this mixer, but the cleaning mode couldnโt fully clean the bowl, especially the part that keeps it waterproof. Unfortunately, Iโm unable to use it anymore due to this issue. It's disappointing as it worked well initially. Hope customer service can help resolve this...
