Live At River Plate [DVD] [2011] [NTSC]

The DVD is extremely good.

Having been a million miles from the stage at the Hampden park gig in Glasgow during the Black Ice tour, I was desparate for the DVD of the tour to be released, to get a closer look at the band in action. It's been worth the wait!! The sound and vision quality are 5 star and AC/DC are professional performers. Make no mistake, this is a stage show, in the same manner as a show like We Will Rock You; every move of the band is rehearsed and choreographed along with the appearance of the various album related props; there's no sign of half finished tinnies on stage either...this is clearly the bands workplace! OK, Phil Rudd has a few fags, but hey, it's still rock'n'roll! The set list is a dream for fans and there's no let up in the momentum, from the opening track until the last. The performance of the band is also perfect; there's no gratuitous guitar solo's here...just quick fire, three or four minute segments of musical dynamite!! And on the crazy numbers, the shots of the crowd in action are pure rock'n'roll. The bonus material is the only aspect I would consider could be improved, perhaps with more interviews with the band, however, this is a small gripe and doesn't detract from the 5 star rating. Again, I must mention the quality...the HD/Blue Ray really makes this item special; compare this with a grainy copy of filmed rock gigs from years ago...there's absolutely no comparison. A must have item...ten quids worth of pure pleasure!!!

This dvd is their best concert film to date, they`ve filmed the last few tours, since The Razor`s Edge Tour, and they are all great concert films, the sound of this one really stands out for me, it`s perfectly mixed, they sound rock solid, and all the instruments are heard, I saw them on this tour at Wembley, just a few months before this concert, and they sounded the best I`ve ever heard them, it was originally suggested that there was going to be a live album, I really hope this gets released on cd, it would make a brilliant live album.

Saw them at the NEC before they"retired" and they were bloody fantastic then but in their mid fifties (Brian in his 60's) they seem even better. The rest did them good. The whole dvd is beautifully made and the concert is as live as a director could make it. 32 cameras to juggle but cut to perfection. AC/DC is a band that relies on one main man (I liked the fact that Angus still wears the schololboy gear. It is his trademark after all) but the engine room is the best in the business and this film gives them credit by occasionally giving them airtime. Approximately 66,000 hot blooded argies (especially the ladies) and the best live band around create the perfect dvd experience although I feel that you had to see it live to get the initial train wreck to its full extent. Conclusion....f'ck'g brilliant!!!!!!!

The audience partisipation is fantastic

Fantastic filming of this massive event and sound quality second to none, especially when volume turned up to authentic wall shaking level. Enjoyed greatly by two rock loving old 'uns and a 21 year old

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS BAND ? WELL APART FROM THEM LOOKING AS IF THEY PLAY MUSIC + WALK AROUND JUST TO SAVE FUNERAL EXPENCES THESE PENSIONERS REALLY NOW HOW TO ROCK + STILL ENTERTAIN THEIR FANS WITH GREAT MUSIC. BRIAN JOHNSON DOES SOUND BETTER THAN EVER + AS LEARNT SOME PRETTY GOOD MOVES ASWELL . NOT ONLY DO YOU GET A GREAT CONCERT YOU ALSO GET SOME PRETTY GOOD ANIMATIONS TO ACOMPANY THE SONGS . AN EXCELLENT MUSIC DVD FROM AN EXCELLENT BAND I REALLY TAKE MY HAT OFF TO THEM. IF ONLY BRIAN WOULD TAKE IS HAT OFF ON STAGE. HA! HA!

Don't think about it, just buy it. You will not regret it.

Just Got It And Listened/Watched The DVD....Nice Mix Of AC/DC Songs And GREAT Audio Mixing ! The Behind The Scenes Was A Nice Treat, A Little More Of Angus In There Would Have Been Nice Tho...I Saw The show Here In California 2X With Floor Seats Next To The "Catwalk" Was Just Unreal, Angus And All The Lads In TOP Shape, Great Sound, Nice Effects ! Was Nice To See Them Out And About Signing Autographs Pretty Cool Of Them To Do That ! I'm A Little Mixed On The Split Screens During The Show ...Hummmm....Maybe I Just Need To Watch It A Few MORE Times xD....All In All A FANTASTIC DVD ! SUPER High Energy ( High Voltage !) Crowd And The Band Of Course Played Their A**s Off....Angus Could Power SF ..Just Plug A Cord Into Him lol ....No DTS But The Dolby Mix 5.1 Is Still Great ! Have Also Seen Them In The Front Row......Cannot Imagine HOW You Could Get In The Front Row There ....66,000 People Each Nite Impressive, And The Fans From Everywhere In The World, Did Just About Anything To Get To This Show ! Maravilloso concierto en vivo de la que posiblemente sea la banda de Rock más grande del planeta, además con el aliciente de ser el último documento oficial registrado por la formación clásica: Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young (que E.P.D.), Cliff Williams y Phil Rudd. Tanto el escenario como el recinto y el ambiente de público son espectaculares, y el concierto está grabado con muchos medios técnicos, con lo cual tanto la imagen como el sonido son excelentes. Si ya tienes la edición en doble Cd (como era mi caso), no dudes en hacerte también con esta versión en Dvd. Vale muchísimo la pena, además viene presentado en un bonito formato deluxe.
