RE-PRESS: CD ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 2017ONE OF TROJAN’S BEST-SELLING ALBUMS FROM 1970.AVAILABLE ON CD FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1994.MANY TRACKS NEW TO CD.During the late 1960s and early 1970s, The Kingstonians peppered Jamaica’s singles charts on a regular basis, with their recordings for producer Derrick Harriott proving particularly successful.Their popularity prompted the producer to release what proved to be the vocal trio's only album, ‘Sufferer’, which collected a dozen of their best-known works from the preceding two years. One of the most sought-after boss reggae LPs ever to see issue, the album finally receives the respect it has long since been due, with the original 12 tracks bolstered by an equal number of bonus recordings; the result being the first definitive anthology of the Kingstonians’ works for Harriott’s widely revered Crystal Records.Featuring a number of tracks new to CD and eight highly sought-after instrumental versions, ‘Sufferer’ is a must for all serious fans of vintage Jamaican sounds.

A classic boss reggae reissue plus extras!
The Kingstonian's classic boss reggae album Sufferer re-released with many extra tracks. The first twelve tracks are the original album, basically just a collection of their songs 1968-70. It's an excellent album, musically and stylistically rather like the Pioneers' songs from around the same time. To this has been added some excellent instrumentals by the Crystalites using the same rhythm tracks as the songs, which are almost as good as the originals. I particularly like the spaghetti-western-themed Undertaker's Burial. Released amongst a number of Dr Bird reissues, all of which are worth exploring.

No Sufferring At All
Previously aware of 'The Kingstonians' through the track 'Singer Man' being on one of the old Tighten Up Trojan albums back in the day. Pleased to be able to add this to my collection. So this is superior, quality reggae from Jamaica's golden age of music. Very fine. Even better as through the writings of Lloyd Bradley I now know the significance of the label 'Sufferer' and what the fellows are singing about.

Well done all at Dictor Bird
Well done all those at Doctor Bird for a fabulous cd making the rare Kingstonians album available again with extra tracks. Derrick Harriott was a great producer as well as an exceptional singer and it is good to see his production being released.
