Fitted Perfectly - Well Made and Good Value
This close coupling kit fitted perfectly and is well made and good value. I am glad I chose to buy this as when I dismantled the cistern to replace the syphon and valve I found the original 20 year old close coupling kit was rusting.

Four Stars
Plate is not galvanised so no doubt will rust quickly but otherwise seems to work well. Very quick delivery

Perfect for a 2" outlet close coupled toilet.
This works perfectly for my 2" diameter outlet close coupled cistern. The sponge doughnut ring I removed had clearly been leaking slowly over time, but this kit comes with a nice, sturdy rubber o-ring that makes me much more confident, and it's nice and compressable so it's easy to make a good seal. I fitted it curved-side down to match the moulding of my bowl. The metal bracket is sturdy an I could easly clamp the cistern tightly to the bowl, so I really have no complaints!

Doughnut too 'foam-rubbery' for Shires Toilet
I replaced all the internal parts of a 'SHIRES' close-mounted toilet (Wickes Dual Flush Siphon and Bottom Mounted Inlet Valve assembly)I didn't buy the Wickes Doughnut kit because the customer review at Wickes said the metal plate bent too easily.I bought this one instead. When re-assembled using the above Toilet Close Coupling Kit, water gushed from the pedestal area where the cistern joined it.Despite re-seating it, water always gushed.I had to call in a plumber who disassembled it, checked all the parts, pronounced the fitting good, re-assembled it all, and it STILL gushed!Even after tightening the wingnuts as hard as he possibly could. The metal plate was good on this unit, but the Doughnut seemed to him to be too 'foam-rubbery' rather than hard-rubbery.It may also be that the Shires pedestal's ceramic moulding it fits into may be the wrong size for the doughnut to make a good seal. The plumber had to spend more than an hour trying to fix it.The plumber is going to have to come back tomorrow and bring a different Doughnut to try.He did mention being surprised at this result because most of the close-coupled toilets that he repairs don't have any problems.UPDATEThe plumber came back today with a BIGGER doughnut, which worked OK.He said that the one in this kit was not compressing to form a seal because the ceramic moulding in the SHIRES pedestal was too large. Therefore, this kit probably works fine, but not for the SHIRES toilet.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do
As I already had the new innards for an old cistern I though it only prudent to get the coupling kit to complete the job properly. The plumber was happy when he came to do the job and we've had no leakage problems etc. so all is well. Good product with everything required for fitting; good price, and speedy delivery. What more could one ask............

As described
This item arrived quickly and was exactly as described. The price is unbeatable and the kit has all the bits, not just the doughnut. There are four or five different types and sizes of coupling kits available. This is the most popular, so it's very likely it will fit. If this is your first time fitting one of these, I suggest you Google how to do it as they can be the very devil to get watertight.
