Beautiful touching and deeply inspiring
I’ve heard of Khalil Gibran but this was my first experience reading of his work. I look forward to reading the rest of his imaginative poetic and very evocative words. They touch my soul and feel like love notes from beyond. It’s simply beautiful.

Its that type of book you always revisit!
I first heard about The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran from someone I met on a plane to Virginia. Over mimosas and a conversation about philosophy and life, they recommended it, and I’m glad they did. This book is a true gem, exploring topics like love, freedom, and purpose in a way that feels both timeless and deeply personal. It’s definitely one to keep handy—you’ll find yourself reaching for it again and again for guidance and inspiration. Although it was written over a century ago, its wisdom remains incredibly relevant. A must-read for anyone seeking insight and meaning.

A soulful read. A great gift for those who are hurting.
It’s deep. The authors story is deep. But it does the heart good.

Insightful and Inspiring
As a prophet seeks to leave a city, he leaves last words of treasure to the people on the shoreline city. His teaching are poignant and applicable today. He expounds in prose on many requested topics to help us be kinder to ourselves and our neighbor as well as strangers. This is a short powerful read.

An Interesting and Sometimes Beautiful Series of Poetic Prose, But Often Difficult to Comprehend
"The Prophet" is a series of poetic prose authored by Khalil Gibran in the early twentieth century. Mister Gibran was born in Lebanon and moved with his family to America as a child. This series of poetic prose has a somewhat abstruse and mystical aspect to it. It is clear to me that this book has many, many fans. I completely respect that. And there is no doubt that the writing is very poetic and at times beautiful. I had to read and reread much of this work numerous times to gain a partial comprehension of the work.As an American, I make a concerted effort to read the works of authors born in other countries. In that context I really appreciated this reading experience. However I need to confess I ended up being glad that the work was short and was relieved when I had finished it.I am very glad that I had a chance to read this work. But it was work. It is not a light read. I do not think that the average reader, looking for a light reading experience will particularly enjoy this work. I am sure there is wisdom to be found within. However it is not easily accessed. Speaking strictly for myself I get more from reading the Wisdom Books of the Old Testament of The Bible. In summary, I am glad that I read this work. I was glad to study the life of the author. I purchased and audiobook narrated by Sandra Cullum and she did an excellent job. But the work is not a light read. My personal appreciation was mostly as a study experience and not every reader is going to enjoy this book. Thank You...

Bad customer service from Amazon
Product as described but Amazon has no control over delivery of orders….those incompetent and neglectful drivers left it, and many other deliveries, out in the weather and items were rained on and ruined.
