QNAP TS-464-8G-US 4 Bay High-Performance Desktop NAS with Intel Celeron Quad-core Processor, M.2 PCIe Slots and Dual 2.5GbE (2.5G/1G/100M) Network Connectivity (Diskless)

I'm not a fan of this NAS. I bought it to back up my pictures, but it's been challenging to sync it with my computer folders. I have to admit, I'm disappointed with the experience.

After nearly a decade of flawless service from my QNAP TS-453A, it was finally time for an upgrade—and the TS-464-8G-US has exceeded expectations in every way. Performance and Speed One of the first things I appreciated was the 2.5GbE network connectivity. It’s a huge step up from the gigabit port on my 453A. With compatible switches and cabling, I’ve seen dramatic improvements in transfer speeds across my local network. Whether I'm streaming 4K media, moving large RAW photo files, or backing up machines, the difference is real and consistent. Expandability and Future-Proofing What really sets the TS-464 apart is its expandability. The 8GB of RAM (upgradable to 16GB) gives me the flexibility to run more apps simultaneously—something I felt limited by on the 453A. The M.2 NVMe slots allow for SSD caching, which significantly speeds up access to frequently used files and apps. There's also a PCIe slot, which opens the door for further upgrades like a 10GbE network card or additional storage interfaces. Software and Features QTS has matured a lot over the years, and on this hardware, it runs smooth and fast. From multimedia streaming with Plex, to backup routines with HBS3, to containerized apps and virtual machines—this NAS handles it all with ease. The integrated HDMI port is still a nice touch for local playback or dashboard display. Build Quality and Design The TS-464 feels solid and well-built. Drive bays are easy to swap, and fan noise is minimal—definitely quiet enough for a home office or living room setup. The interface is snappy, and app support is broad. Final Thoughts If you're coming from an older QNAP like the 453A, the TS-464 is a massive leap forward. Faster networking, more RAM, better expandability, and a polished OS make this an excellent investment for both home power users and small business needs. It feels like a NAS that’s built for the next 10 years. Highly recommended.

Lo adquiri para instalar mi Media Server Plex y muy satisfecto, funciona muy bien.

HDD installation was super easy and setup was simple. Performance is vastly better than my old ARM-based QNAP NAS. It was unclear reading the documentation whether I could upgrade the RAM on this model or not. QNAP's documentation said no, but I saw reviews saying they had changed the design to allow it. I did not open the NAS enclosure to determine whether that is true or not.

Works great with plex, Phone gallery backup while charging. Adding individual users with custom privilege, No need of a PC for downloading from internet. 8 local surveillance cameras can be added for recording, but none of the supported cameras are not that cheap and are not available in Saudi market 😟 Overall it’s a Great product 👍
