Does it wipe off the metal easily? I'm looking to use it for an outline to follow.

I would compare it to using chalk on a chalkboard (even looks like chalk on a chalk board), comes off easily but takes a couple of swipes.

How big are the soap stones?

About an 1/2 inch wide and 1/8 thick 5 inches long. They fit in a standard holder

What size refills are needed? I don't seen anything in the product details and I'd hate to buy a box on the assumption they'd work.

I've not run into different sizes of flat soapstone. All the flat refills have fit the holder.
