I brought this after significant On Line reviews for Portable Scanners. It's a little Gem. It is compact but very well made. One of the best features is not with the Hardware but the ON BOARD Software. This is REAL Plug-n-Play. Took it out of the Box attached the USB Lead lugged it into my personal MacBook Pro & VOILA...Software Launched & I was scanning in less than 5 Minutes. I then plugged it into my Office Windows PC. No intial Auto Launch but checked Explorer, found the External Device, clicked on the Exe file and off I went again, scanning like never before. The Software interface for Initial Scanning Set-up such as FULL AUTO, TEXT, PHOTO & CUSTOM and Post Scanning processing, such as DELETE PAGE & CROP, ROTATE is both simple yet extensive. There is the facility to add your own custom Setup so that subsequent scanning is a two click process. There is a separate USB Power Lead but not had any need to use it yet as it works perfectly just plugged in with one. There is NO Power Brick to lug around so this makes it a TRUE Portable scanner (it fits in my Briefcase & goes everywhere I go). Sheet feeding can be a bit temperamental at times, especially when loading up multiple pages or different thicknesses but once you get the hang of it it just eats through pages like a knife through butter. The scanner can scan dual or single sided & will AutoDelete Blank pages on Dual Sided. The quality of the scans is impeccable & with built in OCR it could not be simpler. The additional Card Reader Slot is a bonus & is fantastic for Credit & Business Cards and with the built in OCR Engine both Orientates the Card & Crops to size. If I had one complaint it would be the Price, but then Quality & Functionality in the Scanning World will not come cheap. I no longer have shelves & drawers full of Bank Statement, Telephone Bills, Invoices, Letter & Instruction Manuals thanks to this little baby. Go Digital...Go P-215ii If you do buy this then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Protective case if you intend to use this on the road or travelling. Not very quick, but very quiet! Sometimes it feeds extra pages so have to observe it all the time while scanning. I love the software coming with it, very easy to use and straight forward. I also love the fact it automatically rotates the pages and the scanning quality is really good.I would recommend this product!

This is a great portable scanner, fully powered by usb and can scan both sides in one pass. It works well, scans fast and is a convenient, compact addition to your loabtop bag.

Up until recently I had a multi function device from Canon (combined printer and scanner) but it wasn't particularly easy or light to move around, so I was on the lookout for a combined portable printer and scanner. Unfortunately I found that Canon doesn't make such a device, but ended up buying their portable printer (iP110) and this device as the scanner. First thing to note - it's fast - very fast - if you scan at the default setting which is black and white, it churns through a page very impressively (around 1s) - if you ramp it up to colour and 600dpi (the top setting) - it slows down quite a lot - but then again so do most scanners. This is the 2nd version of the P-215 scanner (as signified by the II postfix on the model name), and has been around for a while - the software that you get for this device is a little confusing - it comes with CaptureOnTouch v3.2, however if you look at the support website the Pro version (v4) is also available. If you choose to install v4 then you should uninstall v3.2 first - it will not install "over the top" of v3.2. The other worthy thing to note is that it comes with 2x USB cables - one is a micro USB data connector and the other is for power (it ends in a yellow power connector) - you are supposed to be able to get a "wall wart" adapter for this, but I've been unable to find a part number, and to be honest as long as you have 2x USB sockets, you don't need one. I connected this to my desktop PC, installed the software and it worked straight away, however on my laptop it was a slightly more involved affair - I know for a fact all my USB ports work on my laptop, yet I had to try different USB ports in order for the printer to work correctly - I am not sure whether this is due to the amount of power being drawn from a particular controller or a firmware issue (there are no firmware updates for this printer on their support site), but I had to use different USB ports depending on when I had powered my machine on (i.e. it changes between each reboot of the laptop). This device is also supposed to be able to scan even if it's not connected to a computer (and indeed is recognised as a drive when connected to a PC) but I have not yet used this functionality and will report further when/if I do so. There is also an optional WiFi adapter for this device which I had to purchase separately which allows you to operate this scanner independently and do not need to plug this scanner into a computer - it is in effect a USB Ethernet adapter. My recommendation ? Do not buy the WiFi unit or scanner - now I have used this device for a few months, it has become extremely irritating and if I could return it I would. Firstly I haven't been able to get the USB Ethernet adapter (Canon badged) working properly on Windows 10 (only Windows 7 is supported but I didn't find this out until after I had purchased the device and tried to get support on it - I say tried as no one from Canon called me back to assist further). Secondly although this item has a sheet feeder it is very temperamental in whether it picks up ANY pages - let alone any pages after the first. In daily usage I find I have to give the scanner a helping hand and push the paper into the scanner in order for it to pick up properly - this issue is exacerbated if you have a piece of paper which has been folded up (e.g. a letter) which you are trying to scan. I really wish Canon had tested this product further in their R&D labs before releasing it to the public. This device is so bad I will think twice before buying Canon again in the future.

The Canon P-21511 is a brilliant piece of equipment. I bought it to replace the Canon P-150 Scanner which was not compatible with upgrade to Windows 11. The P-21511 can scan many sheets of paper in one go, either duplex or simplex; it detects whether pages are black and white / 24 bit colour / greyscale. Scanned pages can be printed / sent to file / attached to email. The scanner is portable and takes up very little desk space.

Even if you don't need it's portability, the P-215ll is a superb scanner. Made all the more useful by the excellent software that ships with it, which is both easy to use and very versatile. The best feature though, has to be the dual scanner heads. Both sides of the page are scanned at once and the software orientates the page based on the text it 'sees'. The scanner software lets you build up a library of scan folder locations and gives you the choice of adding your own naming convention, have the scanner name your scans using the date and time, or combine the two. You can set up different naming rules for every scan folder location. So as a Project Manager, I can prefix my scans with the project name depending on the target folder I select. The final killer feature is the dedicated business/ID card slot. This makes scanning a batch of business cards quick and easy. The scanner includes the BizCard software program for organizing your scans and integrating them with Microsoft Office.

The instructions are not clear so it’s pot luck whether it works or not but when it does it’s good.

The scanner is very neat. It connected to my MacBook Air OS Sonoma 14.0 automatically the cable was plugged in. There is micro usb port on the scanner and a USB cable which needed a converter to plug into the USB C port on the laptop. The software CaptureOn Touch Lite for Mac appeared immediately on the desktop and all I needed to do was select the type of document, where I wanted to save it and Press the Scan button. It was very easy,

Scann sehr schnell, auch ohne Stromkabel. Qualitativ auch sehr gut. Vorteile - schnell auch ohne Stromkabel - gute Qualität von Scans - Möglichkeit, komplett ohne Treiberinstallation und ohne Admin Berechtigungen zu scannen - einfach an einen beliebigen Rechner anschließen und los geht's mit dem Scannen (dafür gibt es einen Schalter auf der Rückseite) - sehr kompakte Bauweise - für "Made in Japan" guts Preis-Leistungsverhältnis Nachteile in Software - Duplex Funktion ist zu tief in Software versteckt, ich habe Zeit gebraucht, um sie zu finden - Die Option zum automatischen Drehen von Scans nach Textausrichtung funktioniert nicht so ganz zuverlässig, so habe ich diese Option ausgeschaltet. Das stört mich nicht, das Papier kann ich auch selbst richtig sortieren. Duplex Funktion ist genial. Da wird das Papier in einem gleichen Schritt von beiden Seiten gescannt.

Arrivato con puntualità perfetta il giorno previsto. Messo subito in opera. Lo scanner è abbastanza piccolo e facilmente trasportabile, Funziona molto bene e sono rimasto impressionato della velocità di scannerizzazione. Non è immediatamente intuitivo, ma si fa molto in fretta ad imparare. I risultati sono ottimi soprattutto per i documenti in pdf. Anche le fotografie sono più che discrete e i documenti (patente c. identità codice fiscale, ecc.) più che onorevoli. I drives intrinseci sono sufficienti e non c'è bisogno di usare quelli sul dischetto a meno di scansioni altamente artistiche. Un plus molto importante è il duplex. Sono convinto di aver fatto un ottimo acquisto anche se il prezzo non è proprio popolare. Consigliatissimo per un uso semiprofessionale. Servizio Amazon come sempre impeccabile

Llevo años usando otro escaner similar de Canon y lo he actualizado con este. Estoy igual de contento. Es muy practico por tamaño, rapidez de escaneado a doble cara y solo con conectarlo al puerto usb. Recomendabilisimo.
