Having had opportunity to handle/compare the CX-7 model in John Lewis with other 'usual suspect' cordless stick-vacuums, we were even more fortunate in comparing Amazon's pricing, almost half the JL's £299. Amazon-bots prompt review soon after purchase, but in waiting to see how we got on over a few months, I can now report that the AEG is a definite improvement upon our Dyson V6.Although with better suction, the V6 (given away to a relative) was much heavier and more unwieldy. The CX-7 puts hardly any strain on the wrist, is quiet and a joy to manoeuvre around. The container is small so emptying is frequent, but although we had reservations about the reduced power, the surprise is just how much better at picking up it is than the V6.We said goodbye to our beloved 14-yr-old cat in Sept: cleaner carpeting these days but, in comparison, there's no doubt that the AEG pulled up far more hair, bringing back the 'springiness' of the pile, which never actually happened with our old full-size Dyson. If there's one critique – which could be said of all manufacturers though – is that one needs to buy an accessories kit for more options.Charging on the supplied 'stand' is straightforward, and the 'push-button release' couldn't be easier for using/reattaching the 'hand-held' to the upright stick. The AEG's sections ooze quality throughout, suggesting that it'll last for years to come. Very happy to recommend.

This Vacuum is amazing, it is so lightweight and small but very powerful!! my old big dyson gave up the ghost and i decided to go for something small as i live in a 1 bed flat. this vacuum stores very easily, and is very good at cleaning. we have a dog and she's shedding her winter coat at the moment, and this vacuum is picking up hairs i didn't even know were there!! charging is very convenient, the base with the charger is small as fits neatly into a corner and is easy to use!! i cant stress enough that this is a brilliant vacuum!! i thought that it wouldn't be amazing as it was quite small but i was very wrong!

I bought this to replace my Black & Decker Ora which I had had for three years; the seal was gone on the door to the dust container and it was a poor design anyway so I need something better. The reviews were very good on this AEG so I got it and I am glad I did. It was more powerful and much better put together than my old Ora. It was very lightweight and fits together without a minimum of fuss. It looks good as well and has a small footprint so easy to store - it sits on the floor on its charging stand and you can keep it plugged into the wall.I vacuumed my stairs, hall and dining room and only went down by one bar (there are three bars on the charging indicator). Edge to edge cleaning is not brilliant though, but the handy crevice tool which sits on the back of the handle was very handy. The motorised brush that you can attach to the hand held unit was really helpful for doing the stairs, though again the crevice tool was needed for the edges.One of the plus points for me was the effortless way the whole unit goes into the charging stand, how the handheld unit comes in and out of the handle and the ease of empty the container. Be warned though, the container is not very big. It doesn't bother me as, with 2 children and 2 cats, I tend to hoover little and often but if you prefer to do a whole house at one, that's going to be a lot of emptying. So I would recommend it more for smaller properties and for on the go cleaning.All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase!

Love almost everything about this. The free standing charging station is much easier to live with than a wall mounted one. It’s very easy to use, switching from upright to handheld is just one click either way. The suction is great and not far off my full size meile cylinder cleaner. The pet heads supplied work extremely well, I have a white cat and red furniture and not a hair left behind. The dust chamber is easy to empty. It’s slightly heavier than I anticipated (I’m disabled and need to hold onto a frame to walk) however I am able to use it fairly easily, it’s smooth to manoeuvre and the small head us great if you have lots of furniture to get around. If you have a large house you might need a larger cleaner however it would still be great for quick jobs or stairs etc. Wish I’d got one years ago.

This aeg beats my vax blade 4. The AEG is so easy to use, suction is good, it cleans up to the edge of the floor. Easy to empty and clean. It has all the weight of the battery etc at the bottom of the machine so it's not heavy in the hand. This vaccum is well designed and worth every penny. I think the small tank is not a problem as it performs perfectly. Wish I'd known about this vaccum before I wasted money on the vax blade 4.

Out of the box worked lovely , good suction but trying to get it to charge fully to use again.? Good luck . You need to keep checking the lights are showing it’s charging , and even if you don’t touch it it will stop charging before it’s full . Tried keeping an eye and replacing it till lights show again . Who has time for that . It’s supposed to be saving me time . Am looking into returning it . It seems to be the luck of the draw as to wether it works well. Someone needs firing on quality control
