Definitely love this knife , makes my job some much easier

I think this is a pretty solid knife. It's made of solid metal, has 3 blades on the inside of it, and comes with a plastic pouch to hold the knife in. You simply spin the metal gear wheel and it'll open up the knife so you can get the blades on the inside of it and install them on the front of the knife. It's even magnetic in the area where you add the blade. The only thing I don't really like about it is that you can't fold the blade and it doesn't have any buttons that will make it easy to bring the blade in and out. You have to manually do this by spinning the wheel. I don't suggest putting this blade in your pocket if you have the blade out. Overall, this does what I need it to and again, it's a solid knife. Knife works well. But arrived all scratched up, dirty and the logo was faded. It was obviously a used product.

Good carpet and vinyl knives

I plan to rip up carpet to put in hardwood flooring so I got this "dolphin" knife beforehand. The shape does look somewhat like a dolphin and feels more ergonomic to pull and rip with than the standard shape box knife. This comes with 3 blades that are reversible, and the thumb wheel opens and closes the hinged halves of the knife. The nice feature is a small magnet in the storage compartment for the blades, so they don't fall out when the knife is opened up.I would use the curved blade to cut open carpet in a long stretch, and the other straight blades for general cutting boxes and vinyl flooring. The blades are sharp and easily cuts through cardboard and carpet. Note that the blades are NOT retractable, so they are exposed until I put the knife in the hard plastic holster. The holster does keep the knife safe and secure, and has a nice belt clip to clip onto a belt. For the features and multiple blades, the price seems in line with my expectations.

I knew in advance that this knife didn’t have a retractable blade, so I don’t consider that a negative- stowing the blade requires turning the screw dial, opening the hinged body, and moving the blade to the handle’s internal storage compartment. That said, this is the most comfortable utility knife I’ve ever had. I’ll be using it for DIY carpet installations but I also intend to keep it in my tool bag for any jobs that require a lot of extended cutting.The included sheath is sturdy, has a belt loop, and (importantly) is long enough to accept the knife with a blade in place. I’ll still be keeping my retractable knives (both with and without spring retraction) for safety reasons for jobs where I have to go back-and-forth between other tools and the utility knife, but this is a welcome addition to my tool kit.
