All the One's you Know
are here but this is just a starter kit for those not in the know about this Rock Legend Icon. A good place to start but it just scratches the surface of his output. These are the songs you know by heart. Saw Tom in May of the last year of his life in Champaign, IL. Joe Walsh opened in support. The Best concert I have ever had the opportunity of attending up until we saw the Stones No Filter tour in St. Louis. Though Kiss put on the Best "Show" they couldn't hold a candle to a Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers concert. Period. Boom! Did you hear the mic drop?

Good quality.
Good quality for 10 bucks. Wildflowers is my favorite Tom Petty song, not on here. My fault for not checking that.

Mary Jane, You Got Lucky
Tom Petty reminds me of electricity and running water: he's so consistently good he's taken for granted. In fact, having Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers in our pop music lexicon is akin to replacing a bean bag chair with a swivel recliner; it ain't fancy, but it sure feels good. And Petty's down-home, Heartland rock 'n roll sure feels good, as evidenced by the first compilation of the band's greatest hits, entitled (Duh) TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS GREATEST HITS. There's nothing here that's in your face, or pretentious--there are no bat's heads or spiked hair or mosh pits. What is here are clean rifts and toe-tappin' tunes and memorable lyrics--all furnished and delivered as laid-back and as relaxed as a cat in a pile of warm laundry. This CD contains eighteen tracks; all of them were and are smash hits. I, in particular, like to strum my air guitar to the likes of "Free Fallin'", "Refugee", "Learning to Fly", and "Runnin' Down A Dream." The song "Into the Great Wide Open" describes my cerebral activity quite admirably. TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS GREATEST HITS should be in every rock enthusiast's CD collection. Good, good stuff.--D. Mikels, Author, WALK-ON

Mud Hens meets Dirty Hands
This Best of CD encapsulates Tom and Mike at their best, from Damn the Torpedoes to Free Falling, they still never cease to amaze with poignant riffs from Campbell and Petty’s scratchy voice it’s a must have!
