How exactly does it work? I should put it inside the backpack? Can it be used in any kind of backpack?

1.Open the cover by counter-clockwise, and close it by clockwise.
2.Gently bite and pull the tip of the valve with front teeth and push back to stop water flow .
3.For the best results,please do not bit hard or chew on the valve. 
4.Please cover the valve when not in use. 
About your other question,our L 14.2'' x W 6.8'' Hydration bladder is compatible with most hydration packs. When they hydration bladder is empty, it can be folded .So it won’t occupy much room in your backpack. Question 3

With such a big lid for filling, how are you to get the full 2 liter's in? Is it 2 liter's starting under filling lid?

I found no way to successfully fill this bladder with 2 liters of water without a bunch of it spilling out when you screw down the cap. Another reviewer reported capacity at 1.6 liters.

Any way I can order a longer tube? I would like to use this while motorcycle riding
