Flamecraft

My husband loves dragons when it comes to like art, fantasy books and fun things like board games. I saw this one and just had to get it for him! The art style is really cute and colorful. We love the little dragons and their names and things like that. We played with 4 people and it was less complicated than some of our other board games! It was easy to set up and understand. I think you could play this with preteens or even a little bit younger if you are looking for a fun family game. It was enjoyable and didn't take too long but wasn't so short that it was boring. A perfect, medium pace and not too complicated game.

So many things about this game are so great. The artwork is just phenomenal and we appreciated a lot of the silly puns and names of things, although we could have gone without the "omg" one, the coven, etc. I could see how this game could be a bit much for younger kids, but I do feel that the length of gameplay could be easily modifiable if you simply remove some of the artisan dragon & enchantment cards, and perhaps limit the number of shops as well if need be. Our first time playing took multiple hours, but it even held the attention of our two kids under 10 (even with being by far the longest board game they've ever played), although I think they would have been glad had the game had ended sooner. Otherwise, even our younger kids were able to play on their own and keep up with the rules once explained to them, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The length was the only real stumbling block for them in my opinion, although I will say our older child (age 11) who is more competitive had a harder time accepting how much further ahead the adults were (since there can be a good deal of strategy involved). We bought it on sale, but this is one of the few games on the market that I could justify paying closer to the $40/50 price point when you consider the quality of the pieces, the beautiful game mat, and how enjoyable it was for our whole family. It was very engaging and has a lot of replay value. Win or lose, at the end of the game, we still felt like we had a good time rather than feeling like those who didn't win had just wasted a couple hours. At the end of the day, the quality time spent together was well worth it.

Adorable board game. More than one viable strategy to win. You can play single player or with a group of friends. The rules are simple enough that you can play with younger players but complex enough that your friend who is a board game champion will enjoy it too. There are no overt hostile actions to attack other players, but there are ways to block another players victory.

Great fun, as easy or complex as you wish to play. It’s refreshing to have a fantasy-themed game that’s NOT combat focused. Like my child said, “it’s like Monopoly, except not”.

cute art, came in time, amazing game everything is ok the only critic i have is that one of the pieces of the dragons came broken , to be pricise, its jaw. beside that is amazing

Super cute, super fun, good for families, and has a solo player option! I love this game soo much!! I'll play it with my friend group or on my own and it's fun both ways.

Such an awesome game. The art is really cute and the game play is a lil complex but once you get the hang of it, its really fun. Good value for money as its such a well made and intricate game. Honestly couldn't recommend it enough. Maybe not for younger kids but its really enjoyable (im a 21 year old board games lover)

We love this game! The artwork is beautiful, the mechanics are smooth with clear instructions (though it may take you a few turns to develop your tactics and strategy), and the overall game is really enjoyable. We particularly like that you can adapt parts of the game to make it shorter or longer as you wish. Some of the clarifications are not very helpful, and you do need a large table space, but this does not take away from how much we love the game. Flamecraft has become a staple of game night!
