Worked perfectly! Instructions confusing. The markings weren’t correct but we figured out how to make it work. Nice weight and easy to adjust to board size. Looks solid.

I used this jig while building a dog kennel to align the bars, and it worked great. The top and bottom holes lined up perfectly, which was important for this project. I do wish it grabbed a little more wood, but the shorter design actually makes it easier to hold on smaller pieces. It holds securely and aligns very well as is. The tolerances are good, and the hole-size inserts screw in and out smoothly and it does not mar the wood. It feels sturdy, has some weight to it, and is quick to set up. Every hole centers nicely — just what I needed for precise, clean work.

Not great but a lot better than expected for the price. They could have done a lot better job centering it, it was not even close to being centered. I had to adjust the calibration nut (the nut under the two allen screws) close to one full turn CCW to center it but it’s within .002” now.

Works as described, used to build a screen door on sun room.

Update: the company reached out to me about my interest in a replacement. I told them I would try it. The replacement worked nearly flawlessly. Dowels go in placed properly. If I had an improvement to suggest it would be the alignment markers need to be more visible and placed where you can easily match them to the markings on the board. Bought this to help speed up a project. I decided to test it out on a smaller project first. When I joined the 2 boards they ended up twisted. Tried again with the same results. So I drew a centerline down a straight board and it seems that the center scribe marks on the jig would find themselves on opposite sides of that line. It would be fine to mark and use the jig on one board then flip it for use on the other board. but if you are nearing then of the board you already have to flip the jig for stable clamping which now sets the dowels out of alignment.

Easy and fast to drill dowels or plugs.

Centered on 3/4” pine nicely using the 3/8 far left quide. Did not try the others. Used it to draw a centerline with 0.5 mech pencil that fit nicely into the 3/8 sleeve - accurate. However, when I marked dowel spacing along the length the jig alignment markings were off by 1/64” and drilling was off considerably more. For accuracy, I used a brad point 3/8 bit to first dimple the location I wanted the dowel, inserted the bit into the jig without drill, slide the jig until the bit registered, tightened the jig then drilled. Will keep it for small projects knowing the time wasting work around for a cheap POS. Inserts go in ok but obiously out of a mold and not machined. Definately a trade off of quality for price.

An indispensable tool for accurate drilling for dowels and other mounting hardware. The price was below what one would pay at a retail store. Quality is first first class.

Have not used this yet but…. I bought it to drill straight 1/2” holes in thick slabs for floating shelf brackets. Essential to get the holes drilled in straight. Pretty sure this rig will work. Wish the larger holes (1/2”) had a threaded sleeve also, not just a hole.
