For standard acoustic guitars, this Curve pre-amp gives you an on-board equalizer and volume control and helps boost and clarify the signal before it goes to your amplifier. For cigar box guitars, using a FLAT pre-amp is guaranteed to make your CBG sound better, compared to wiring a piezo straight to a jack. The rod-style piezo can be built to go under the saddle on standard guitars, and can be built into a bridge or placed directly under the bridge for optimal vibrational pickup on cigar box guitars. Works pretty well
For what this costs, it's an excellent deal. I used it to replace the old BBand/SRTn system (that are famous for failing) in my Ibanez acoustic. I needed a flatter preamp to fit the existing cut-out as closely as possible. With some modification to the guitar, it fit pretty well and did not take too long to install. I did have to use a rotary tool to deepen the bridge slot for the piezo pickup as it is thicker than the original. This was the case with my particular guitar, but may not be with others. Sound quality is pretty decent. Not quite as good as the original, and a bit more piezo "quack", but works well enough for me. Has a strong output so should drive any amp with no issues. Overall a really good deal, just not 5 star audio quality.

easy install
great little unit, I used it in a cigar box build. Easy to install, good sound for my application where I don't want top shelf sound anyways. I'll buy this again for my next build.
