Very nice and hard-wearing
Really nice shoes a little low in the heel for my presence however they very heavy duty and will last a long time. The fit was a little tightrr than I expected. I would recommend buying the next size up to what you usually take.

Very happy
Very happy with these. Bought to replace old crocks pre & post hip replacement. Needed closed toes and support for walking. These areExcellent. Evidently not anti-microbial however.

I love Keen sandals - they are comfortable, and I can wear them all day long.

The best for all terrain proper hiking. Really.
Ok. Can I first state that I didn't buy my Newport Keen sandals from Amazon, as I found a pair for just £40 elsewhere. I had always liked the look of them and already had a pair of Merrell Sieve sandals before. The Merrells looked great, but are definitely not up to the Keen Newports..Here is why...Walking boots for all terrains need a thick sole and should you choose sandals to walk all terrains, then the same applies. Merrell sieve sandals have rather a thin sole (as many walking sandals do) and that is a large part of their problem. Fine for walking on grass pavement or road, but walking anything uneven then the fatigue on your feet becomes unpleasant after long miles. This was tested out for me walking up to 25 miles a day in my Merrells on Lanzarote. The island is famous for lava stone gravel on many paths, and after as little as ten miles the discomfort this proved to my feet was palpable. The Merrells also rubbed against a couple of my toes without ankle socks, and that despite them appearing a perfect fit.On return, I resolved to research a little and try something with a better sole. I assessed the Keen Newports to be much better suited, much down to their fab looks, good reviews and twice as thick sole.Fast forward to walking another Canaries island; Tenerife 2 weeks ago...Just as much sole comfort as my very best walking boots and no ankle socks required. They also stick like a dream to dry rock. I do indoor climb on occasion these days and incorporated the odd mild rock scramble in the Tenerife trip. They are fantastic.. totally.. and I believe I could even effectively climb most straightforward faces in these over traditional climbing shoes.I did manage to get a projecting ground level root caught in one of the windows in the sandals on Tenerife. It caused me to trip and fall heavily really stress testing the sandals but to no damage at all to them, just a bit of grazing to my knees. The quality really is notable.. these are one strong and well made bit of footwear.I did take boots with me to Tenerife given my prior poor experience with the Merrells, but because of how fab the Keens turned out, never wore them.I found that my actual foot size (10.5) was a perfect fit too.. and I walked most of the time without socks with no discomfort or rubbing issues whatsoever over 100 miles of high intensity walking over a week.I will never pack another pair of boots in my luggage again when walking abroad in sunnier climes, but simply intend to take another pair as an unlikely needed backup. This will reduce weight and increase packing space with budget flights.I have also walked in these in wet weather, and they still perform well despite your feet getting wet.. better to take wool socks though if they are all you have and rain is possible, as although they are fine if your feet do get wet (they are designed to go in water) then proper wool socks will help prevent rubbing. An incredible piece of kit which can sometimes be purchased for below £50.. Im holding out for a cheaper offer at the moment, but don't expect to get a pair for £40 again..That was an unreal bargain..You will not be disappointed with these sandals..PS.. I chose the bluey gray colour, and wear dark socks and these also look fab in blue jeans.. just like a very nice pair of trainers but obviously far cooler... They dont even look like sandals when worn like that to be honest...A really great piece of all round footwear.. :)

More of a well ventilated shoe than a sandal
Sort of a hybrid between a well ventilated shoe and a sandal. My feet did get hot and sweaty more so than they do in similar type sandals. I’m not complaining, the trade-off for additional support and comfort were worth it. I’ve gotten them wet a number of times and they remain comfortable and dry quickly. I’ve put many a mile on them and they are serving me well.I looked at the black, triple black, and naval academy colors. The triple black looks like something a nun would wear, the naval academy was what I thought was an off blue, and the standard black is what I liked and purchased. The sole is thick enough to give plenty of cushion, the fit ran a half a size small for me. I a standard size 10 and had to get a 10 1/2.
