The BOXY is a 2-in-1 network media player combining a Netflix-certified Android TV streaming device with the advanced Dune HD media centre software. It is a really small and powerful media player that out performs my Nvidia Shield TV 2017. I am very happy with the end results when playing on an LG OLED full Dolby, picture and audio, hooked up to my Sonos Beam 2. Awesome movie play back. Good value for money. Really nice remote control, can also be controlled with my LG TV remote. It has improved playability (over my shield tv) and enhances my movie viewing.

Second Dune HD box I have purchased. Love the dune interface, so easy to use. The picture is great and this supports dolby vision. Highly Recommended.

After using my Firestick 4K MAX for streaming media stored on my computer and encountering distorted video files where the first third of the screen would display as the last third, I decided to research devices that could play all Dolby Vision Formats. This device does that but it doesn't do it "out of the box". Dune HD Media Player needs installing manually and to do it, you have to use the downloader app. This is not a problem but the default folder for downloads, which I could not change, is SD Card storage. Luckily, I had a spare 32Gb card and was able to proceed. Once downloaded to the SD card, it can then be moved to main storage. I was using SMB to connect to my Firestick but this is also not configured out of the box and instructions to do so are a little complicated. However, I was able to connect to my media library via Network Storage and so all is well! Files in Dolby Vision that played all messed up via the Firestick, play just fine on this device. However, reading the documentation, there can be some conflict with HDR10 content not displaying properly unless you change some settings on your TV. I haven't encountered this yet but it's in the help guide online. Sideloading Apps is also something I needed to do and that was a pain in the ass! After downloading them to the SD card, moving them to main storage. Switching the box off and rebooting many times, plus adjusting many settings, it finally worked and I have the Apps I need. I've only spent half a day with BOXY and that time was mostly spent knashing my teeth and pulling out my hair, trying to get it to work as I wanted. One Star knocked off for that! Physically, the thing is tiny and I have it sat on top of my centre speaker and connected via HDMI to my Denon X3800H AVR. I had to adjust a setting in the AVR menu to get the correct passthrough because Dolby Atmos was not initially showing up in my menu options on the AVR. After some faffing around, I got it to work. I'm getting old (50+) and it took me around 4 hours to get it working as I wanted it, but I expect a whizkid would have it set up in much less time. The tracking was terrible and showed this package as stuck in Customs for 4 days. But, without that changing, it arrived bang on the time stated when I bought it. I did panic and contacted the seller but the day I wrote to them, it arrived and so all was well. Time will tell how I get on with playing HDR10 files but as I mainly wanted it for the Dolby Vision support, which the player defaults to, it seems like a great little streaming media player! Be prepared to do some setting up and make sure to have a SD card spare and if you have kids, let them loose on it - the younger generation are so much better at understanding the tech side of things than us oldies! All in all, I think this was a good investment. My only other option was the Nvidia Shield Pro at more than double the price. Plus the Shield seems to need Plex and / or Kodi installed for it to do what I wanted and that would have taken a lot more configuring than this. Dune Media Player works well, but I also have VLC media player installed and can connect to my PC through that too. Either way, it plays the files that the Firestick didn't - so I will call it a Win, Win!

Ordered and received Boxy promptly - set up was straightforward. Have only used the box for local media - 4k, DV etc and it has not missed a beat. The included DuneHD media player is great and it has yet to struggle with anything!! Would recommend 👍

No dislike great box lovely remote clear picture if buying a box for me this is the one U may need to install apk installer for some apps like downloader.

Would give it 5 but it wont control my tv says cant connect to servers to updaye the remote. apart from that its quick and remote is responsive.

Media Centre good, Chromecast good but no Google Chrome. Tried to download but screen showed message saying it was not compatible with current version.

Tan solo comentar que este Boxy Tv de sistema android funciona tal y como muestra la descripción. De modo que podrás disfrutar de todas las plataformas de streaming de vídeo populares (netflix, Disney, prime, Filmin, Movistar, etc). Por supuesto, permite la descarga de otras Apps de música o juegos. En mi caso solo he probado Spoty y al igual que las otras, va fluido. Y lo que era muy importante para mi, con muy buena calidad de imagen y sonido. Buscaba un dispositivo con codecs actuales de sonido (DTS, Dolby, Flac, etc) e imagen HD. Reproduce archivos pesados de vídeo y audio sin problema. Y su conectividad permite sacarle mucho partido conectándolo a otros sistemas de sonido o discos duros. Solo llevo con él uno a días, pero puedo afirmar que hace muy bien su trabajo.

Doet alles wat hij moet doen voor een goede prijs . De dune (boxy) player software geeft wel een probleem als je het doet zoals op de website staat. TIP installeer eerst de originel oudste versie die ook op de site is te vinden en daar na de laatste. dan zijn de rechten problemen in android verdwenen . ( ja dat is een bug) problemen met 5.1 en dat soort dingen gebruik de juiste kabels . S/pif en rca gaat echt niet werken . ligt niet aan de boxy maar zijn hardware beperkingen van de kabels ( protocolen). En daarnaast ook even de streaming diensten upgraden en installeren via Google play . Ja ze werken hier allemaal en daarnaast is de box ook nog eens sneller als mijn Google home tv
