Sturdy, Quality Feel
I'm someone who has a very love-hate relationship with console gaming, specifically with controllers. I love a sturdy, well-made controller. I hate controllers that feel too grippy, or just become outright gooey when a little dust settles on them and etches itself into the finish. I'm also no stranger to third-party controllers. Early in the "optimization" race for gaming controllers, I picked up a Razer Onza Tournament Edition and Razer Sabertooth when they respectively released. These controllers had a wonderful increase in functionality, and the on-the-fly button remapping was a dream come true as I adapted controller and profiles to each game I played. Eventually it came to the point where I setup a second installation of World of Warcraft, even, intended to be played with controller. Those controllers started to develop issues, though, and I transitioned back to mouse and keyboard. That lasted for around five years. Recently I've had this notion of ordering a high end controller and trying to transition back to controller gameplay for a number of games, namely some first person shooters and hack and slash games. My only controller at this point worth using was my Dualshock 4, and I have never been a huge fan of the center sticks layout of Sony's controllers. My initial instinct was to order a Scuf controller, but I felt that was far too much of a commitment for something I may use a handful of times and then forget about. I opted to go with something cheaper that has similar functionality. If I liked the cheaper model, I could then opt to upgrade at a later date. I could not have been prepared for how good this controller feels for the money. It is every bit the controller I wanted without having to drop $300+. It has interchangable faceplates, different height and domed/concave sticks, as well as adjustable trigger pull distance. It is packed with features. Right out of the box, I was elated... because it didn't feel like a piece of junk plastic like many third party controllers, including many other PowerA controllers I've used. Just a note: The black faceplate has a satin finish and rubberized grips. It requires a bit more maintenance to continue looking clean, as it shows the oil from hands quite easily. Not too big of a deal as it's removable, you just wipe it off from time to time and it's good to go. The white faceplate has a matte finish reminiscent of the more traditional XBox controllers. The voice feature worked well-ish out of the box, perfectly compatible with my PC and Astro A40 even. I say "well-ish" because I'm used to using a full Mixamp split audio setup, which is not in this controller's wheelhouse. It won't be replacing my A40 and Mixamp, but it certainly would do in a pinch if something broke with my current setup. Button remapping was easier than even the old Razer controllers I have, and the four extra paddles have been a godsend when it comes to some of the games I play. It makes simultaneous inputs in some games trivial, when a normal controller would require me to change my hand position to achieve the same result. It does take getting used to, but it's an adaptation that I'm familiar with due to the Razer Sabertooth I previously used having a pair of remappable rocker switches on the back. Even better, if I ever feel the paddles are getting in the way, I just press a button and pop them off. My literal one complaint is that I wish it were easier to remove the anti-friction rings around the sticks on the faceplate so that I could swap the black ones from the black faceplate to the white faceplate and the green ones from the white faceplate to the black. This is the most minor of gripes. Overall, this controller was perfect for my needs. For now, it has quenched my thirst for a sturdy, third-party controller. That may fade over time and I may end up investing in a Scuf, but the PowerA Fusion Pro 2 absolutely shattered my expectations, even more so considering my experience with their past offerings. Caveat: I have no experience with the modern landscape of high-end controllers. I left the high-end controller scene toward the end of the lifespan of the XBox 360. This is leaps above anything that existed then.

Works for me, darn good controller.
You know, it works and feels solid. I have 4 OEM controllers laying around - all dead from either falling and landing on the USB plug damaging the socket or the stupid non-replaceable left analog stick goes nuts. Actually, both. Yes, the stick can be fixed via creative replacement but it's dumb. USB socket not so easy. So. This PowerA controller is half the price of a Microsoft controller; it has the same heft and feel as an OEM one. Pros: weight is nice response is almost too fast but I think I just need to get used to it. Customizable settings, which isn't a big deal for me but I like options. The design of recessing the USB port is genius. Should the controller fall the stress will not be on the socket. I haven't tried the accompanying USB cable with the breakaway but that's a nice touch too. I'm on the fence with the LED lighting; it's basically a novelty for me. Bleed-over between zones makes setting color schemes tenuous at best. I chuckle because the very center buttons are opaque black when they could've had everything light up without doing anything (see bleed-over above) just by making the buttons clear with embossing. Cons: None yet; only been using it for about 2 weeks. I'm sure the joysticks are going to crap out at some time, but I expect that. Overall, I like this as a replacement at half the price of a Microsoft controller. Looks like it's compatible with the next-gen Xbox so I'll have a spare when I get that. I might even get an extra one now to have a extra for friends. UPDATE (~3 years later) this controller is still working well but is starting to get phantom signals from mostly the joysticks, and the triggers/ bumpers aren't quite as responsive. Between BL3 and NMS I have put hundreds upon hundreds of hours on this controller so those issues were expected; I'm still very pleased with it. Only real annoying thing is the power on button doesn't always work without unplugging and re-plugging the cord (from the controller) several times- the same amount of time and effort as just walking to the console and pushing the power button. I also share the space with a cat so there could be cat hair causing the issues. I'll crack it open at some point to clean the funk out.

I'm extremely impressed by this controller at this price.
I am by no means an expert on controllers, but I want to give my take on this product, partly because there are so few reviews on it as of right now, but also because I just really like the feel of this controller and want to support it. Let me monologue for a moment: My previous controller has served me very well and is actually still in working order. (A nice Afterglow for the 360. A highly recommended workhorse in its own right) I say this just to emphasize how not desperate I was for a new controller. I just felt it was time to upgrade after building a new rig and happened to notice that there was a new gamepad available "for the series x". MOST IMPORTANT THINGS I'll try to list in order below: I was immediately able to plug it in to my Windows 10 PC via USB and it worked flawlessly, as I would expect. THIS IS NOT A WIRELESS CONTROLLER. The connection is micro USB that locks into the back of the controller. Come with a LONG braided cord with a breakaway point. Seems robust. Sticks feel great. Easy to move but they spring back to center. The joystick buttons feel good. The triggers are indeed adjustable and are noticeably different between settings. (As far as this goes for professional play, I don't know, but I suspect it would suffice as some sort of backup controller at the very least) R/L 1 buttons also feel good. Smooth satisfying press. Even the directional pad feels good. The A/B/X/Y buttons are standard. The AGR and AGL back buttons are, in my opinion, very well-placed and I'm looking forward to playing games in which they will have some use. When I looked at the reviews for the other controller I saw that some people didn't know how to turn these off. Just in case, here's what it says in the instructions for that: HOLD PROGRAM BUTTON FOR 3 SECONDS, THE LED's WILL FLASH INDICATING PROGRAM MODE. PRESS AGR/AGL BUTTONS FOR 5 SECONDS TO RESET TO NO FUNCTION. The black matte finish is nice, and I want to emphasize that these LED's are EXTREMELY VIBRANT. My phone's camera doesn't do it justice. I'll try to explain the color choices a little bit: There are four colors; red, blue, green, and yellow. You can choose several shades of each, and whether it is solid or "breathes". There are also three sections of the controller that can change between those colors and settings. I would describe these sections as the outside, middle, and inner sections. Outside being the highlights around the edge of the controller, middle being the left stick and the A/B/X/Y buttons, and inner being most of the right stick and directional pad. It does indeed allow for a lot of customization. For instance, I set mine to an icy blue with warmer pink pulsing in the middle. A really great look that my phone camera doesn't do justice. The mic button is left/right volume toggle, and as another review has stated, it is also a button that mutes and unmutes. I haven't tested this function myself. The other buttons like start, select, share, and xbox are buttons and they work. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with this gamepad and I'm really happy I upgraded. I see myself buying more products from PowerA in the future.

Great controller, but the bumpers need fixing.
TL;DR - It's a nice controller, but a thin piece of plastic that the L/R bumpers depend on isn't as strong as it should be and is prone to breakage and bending. To start off, it's a wonderful controller. The power over the LED lights is nice, it feels good to hold, controls feel smooth, and it just feels generally good to USE. HOWEVER, there is a fundamental issue with the controller, specifically in regard to the left and right bumpers. This appears to be consistent with some other buyers, and I personally encountered this issue after around 8 months of use. While playing, I noticed that the right bumper only seemed to work around half of the time, but I could change that by pressing it in a different location. Then, it started to make a particularly loud clicking sound. Moments later, it stopped working entirely. I looked through PowerA's limited warranty, and they unfortunately do not cover basic wear and tear. I eventually gave up trying to have them repair it (after more research), and decided to try and fix it myself. Upon disassembling the controller, I discovered that the left and right bumpers are ultimately a simple mechanism designed to press a small button. The part that actually interacts with the button is a thin piece of plastic, covered with a small pad. In my case, the pad had fallen off, and the plastic piece's end could not properly reach the button. While trying to create an avant-garde replacement, I discovered another thing: the thin piece of plastic of which the pad was on had bent backwards, and was on the verge of snapping completely. I hadn't noticed this until I had accidentally broken it by just touching it wrong, unfortunately. I fixed it up with some glue and using some duct tape as the "pad", and it works fine again now. Ultimately, the piece of plastic of which interacts with the L/R bumper buttons is far too flimsy, and will probably bend for most users after enough time if used enough. Besides this one issue, I have almost zero problems with the rest of the controller.

Super Impressed. I love it so far!
I was (and am still) a bit skeptical when purchasing this because of the reviews saying this or that didnt work but i've had this for a week and i absolutely love everything about it. It is way better than i thought it would be. Everything about it is better than expected and i even love the LED stuff which i didn't really care about when purchasing. There's no stick drift at all. The trigger stops work perfectly. The programmable buttons work super well and are incredibly easy to program on the fly. The headphone jack works perfectly. And the controller synced up to my Xbox right out of the box with no issue at all. In short, I LOVE this thing so far. For the price, i can't imagine anything beating it unless you needed 4 buttons on the back or had to have a wireless controller. Now the only thing is durability. I'll come back and update this review with how it's holding up but so far, this thing is awesome. Update Edit: it's been about 5 months now and I gotta say, this thing is absolutely awesome. I use it everyday - granted not for very long but still - and it's working perfectly. I had a very weird issue where every once in a long while if I pressed up on the left stick, the right stick would move right and vice versa (down on LS, RS would move left). it was very strange and would only happen like less than 1% of the time. Any movement on either of the sticks and it would immediately go away so it didn't bother me very much at all but it was noticeable. But in time that went completely away and i haven't noticed it in quite some time now. Even with that very minor issue, i still am in love with this thing and absolutely 100% recommend it. At least give it a try.

Great feel, but wireless compatibility is a dealbreaker
I really wanted to love the PowerA XP-Ultra Wireless Controller. From a design and comfort standpoint, itโs excellent. The compact form factor makes it easy to handle for longer gaming sessions, and the build quality feels solid. The modular design is also a nice touch and adds some versatility depending on how you like to play. However, the main reason I purchased this controller was to use it wirelessly with my ROG Ally, and unfortunately, thatโs where it falls short. While it connects via Bluetooth, it does not function properly in many non-Steam games, especially within Xbox/Game Pass environments. It seems to be recognized more like a generic controller rather than a true Xbox input device when used wirelessly, which limits its usability. On the flip side, it works perfectly when connected via USB, with full compatibility and no issues. But that defeats the purpose of buying a wireless controller in the first place. Overall, this is a great-feeling controller with strong build quality, but if your goal is to use it wirelessly with devices like the ROG Ally, you may run into frustrating limitations. Because of that, Iโm giving it 3 stars.

Last 2-3 months
To start off, I found this controller on sale for about 1/3 the price of a Microsoft Elite controller, and I read the mostly positive reviews, so I gave it a shot. I'm always a fan of saving money, and at the start, it seemed like I made the right choice and I was ready to never go back to a $150+ controller. Then, about 2 months into owning the controller (I use it maybe an hour a day... Maybe), while playing warzone with friends we all heard a brief 'alien' noise, then I heard nothing... Something got fried inside the controller, and no matter what I tried, the sound was dead. Plus, where the paddles connect on the back of the controller had broken, making the two lower paddles unusable. I contacted their customer support, walked through a little troubleshooting, and they sent me a replacement. I was pretty happy overall, as I like the feel of the controller and the paddles were easier to use (before the bottom two broke). Fast forward about 2 more months, and I have developed bad stick drift and the same issue with where the paddles connect on the back, again. You can see what I'm talking about in the picture. What is apparent to me now is they don't actually stand behind their warranty. I contacted them about the issues, and they told me that they already replaced the controller, and that's all their policy allows. I reached back out to them with a link to their own warranty policy, asking them to show me where it says they only replace it once, and I haven't heard back from them now (because, surprise surprise, it does not say that anywhere). EDIT: they said they'd make an exception for me and send me another (third controller in 5 months), and made clear that's it. End of warranty. 2nd EDIT: my third controller in six months just died... Audio is gone, and the buttons now don't work as they should (pressing 'A' actually makes it seem like you're using the joystick, for example). LESSON LEARNED... I would have given this 5 stars a month into my purchase, and I bet that's where all of these great reviews come from, but it's obvious these are cheaper than others for a reason... All 3 controllers have stick drift and paddles breaking. You get what you pay for in this case. I was looking to save some money as the roughly $200 Microsoft controller is a lot pricier, but that lasted me about a year and a half of heavier use. I'm not hard on the controllers by any means, and I'm now 2 for 2 with them only lasting about 2, maybe 3 months, and their customer service went from great, to non-existent... Be warned - you'll save some money and be happy for a while, but spending more money on a nicer controller is the way to go.

After over a year of use, the best Xbox controller for PC
The back paddle buttons are in the hardware, and not software. This means there is no delay or drivers required when using these buttons on the PC, when compared to every other Xbox controllers I tested (that cost 3x as much). I play mostly racing games (FH5, ACC, and Wreckfest) and I'm able to be very competitive with this controller. The thumb sticks are some of the best I've ever used, the grip on them is very good at preventing fingers from slipping. They are lower profile, that is good for fast reactions, they are not as low as the Steam controller, but lower than most other Xbox controllers I've used. The grip/paddle buttons are ergonomically located (unlike controllers that cost 3x as much). I don't use the lights or the headphone jack, so I can't say anything about that. I have no complains about the D-pad, that seems pretty standard. I think costs were cut on the front buttons, since they rattle a little, but have never had an issue with them in games and for the price I have no complaints. It has held up for over a year of use most days. I don't notice any drift on the thumb stick, as compared to when I first got it. I've had Steam controller's thumb stick fail sooner, so this is impressive for the price. If you have a PC, I highly recommend it! --- Update, 2 years later (2024). I still notice no drift or issues with this controller. I play FH5 for an hour or two most days. The left thumb stick, that I use for driving, takes slightly less effort to move than the right, so it is getting weaker with time. I still have the center point set to start at 1% so the drift is still less than 1%, so I'm impressed. It has already lasted longer than two Steam controllers. I'm still competitive in games with it. If you game all day, I could see it going out in a year. If you game a couple hours most days, it should last 2-3 years.

Awesome Product! Great Price! Good Alternate to an XBOX controller.
I purchased the black version and I've been using this for a while and I absolutely love it. I needed a controller for my PC and I did not want to pay Xbox's prices plus I wanted LED light for my Controller. Enter the PowerA Spectra Infinity. Its got a great feel to it, the LED lights are bright and plentiful. I am happy the lights aren't just around the edges but around every button, joystick and dpad. Very impressed. The switches on the back for your trigger buttons are easy to change on the fly. There are 3 settings for the switches : Off - half and full compression. Its nice to not have to pull the trigger down all the way to fire in games. There are 2 little buttons on both sides where your middle finger would sit that you can bind to anything. I have mine for reloading and grenade tossing. Awesome feature. Super Long Wired cord is a godsend. SO happy its very long. I can lounge back in my chair and play comfortably. Was not able to do that with my xbox controller.

Feels like a high end product.
Very well made. From body to triggers/bumpers to sticks, everything feels great. Sticks I feel are even smoother than Xbox pad, which I didn't expected. I don't play as a pro, just a casual player got it just as a replacement for my stock pad. A couple of things to note, it's a bit heavier than Xbox pad which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on you. Vibrations do feel nicer due to extra weight. Also reliability, I don't know how long it will last. I got a couple of 3rd party controllers cause my stock pad got some stick drift. Dead zones are extremely small on this so I wouldn't be surprised if it developed stick drift over time as well. If you want reliable, long lasting controller, might be a good idea to check some other options like 8bitdo Ultimate that I also have. It's not as nicely made but dead zones on that are similar to a X360 pad, so it will last. All in all if you get this at same price as stock Xbox pad, i would choose this. It's that good.

Excellent controller!
This is a really great controller, there are also some YouTube videos which review it (I watched these prior to purchasing). It's comfortable to hold, easy to grip, the buttons/sticks all feel well-made, there are easily enough buttons for me, the trigger locks are also a nice feature too. I personally prefer to have the LED lights off most of the time, and there is an easy way to do this (as well as changing the colour of lights too if you like that). The only potential downside for some people may be the fact that it has a cable, but for me this was what I wanted, I prefer to have a cabled controller (more stable connection, you don't have to worry about charging it either). I also got this controller on sale which was great too. Overall this is an excellent controller, when I bought it I believe it was one of the best-reviewed cabled controllers available, and I suspect it is still one of the best ones (if not still the best). If I need to buy another controller in the future, I will definitely be trying to get this one again first before considering other controllers.
